Music Newsletter

Music Newsletter VA Sol Music IB.20 The student will identify career options in music. Designed by Ryan Fagan faganr@vcu.edu INTRODUCTION The Richmond Dispatch wants to do a layout on music jobs but have run into a problem! None of the reporters or editors know anything about Music. THE TASK Your job is to find all the careers in music and write an article about them. These articles will be put into a newsletter for the paper. The members of your group will split into one editor and four reporters. Each report will investigate a musical profession and write an article. The editor’s job will be to put all of these articles together on word with pictures or clip art included. Each reporter must report on a different profession. Reporters need to investigate on how much education these professions need, what do their jobs entail, where do these people generally live, and any extra information including at least one person in this profession. THE PROCESS The class will be split up into groups of five. As a group, the editor and report jobs will be assigned. Decide what music professions the reporters will investigate. Each reporter will write a three paragraph article on that specific profession then turn it over to the editor. 5. The editor will then put all of the articles into one newsletter including pictures or clipart. 6. The editor will then turn the newsletter into Miss Fagan. 7. Miss Fagan will then turn the newsletters into a newspaper on which each group will present their newsletters to the class.
