                       Copying/Moving and Backing-up your E-Playbook Files
Hello Coach,

Welcome to the September 2007 edition of the E-Playbook Newsletter - we hope to provide you with info that will help you build a BETTER PLAYBOOK F
edition will focus on the two options for copying / moving / backing-up your E-Playbook files. To save you time (we are really big on saving you time) we
separated this newsletter into the following topics:

      Introduction
 Your 'Top Level Folder' - where all of your files are saved (formations, fronts, plays, & playbook pages )
 FLASH drive or CD/DVD - which to use
 Manually copy your E-Playbook Files

Introduction
You have two options for copying / moving / backing-up your E-Playbook files:

Easy: Use the E-Playbook Export and Import wizards to 'handle' the job for you
Quick: Manually copy your 'Top Level Folder' to a FLASH drive or CD

Easy - For the less experienced computer user, we specifically provided the Export and Import wizards to simplify the task of moving (to a different c
backing-up your E-Playbook files (formations, fronts, plays, & playbook pages). Using our Export and Import wizards not only can you copy your E-Playb
FLASH drive or CD, but the wizard will also allow you to print out a list of all 'backed-up files'. To start the Export & Import wizards select the File menu:

The Export & Import wizards will then 'walk you through' completing your export / import. You will even be given the opportunity to print out a list of a
files (selected example wizard screens shown below):

Quick - For the Windows user who in comfortable manually copying folders & files, as with any 'Windows data' you can copy ("drag & drop") E-Play
and files from one 'data drive' to another. As long as you are comfortable working with 'multiple Explorer windows' and "dragging & dropping" manually cop
quicker than using the E-Playbook Export & Import wizards. E-Playbooks 'Data Storage Architecture' make this task easy because all of your E-Playbook
saved in your 'Top Level Folder' which by default will include the name of your team and your last name.

Your 'Top Level Folder' - where all of your files are saved (formations, fronts, plays, & playbook page
When you first installed E-Playbook we created a 'Top Level Folder' which is where every file that you create will be stored. This folder is located 'inside' t
Playbook folder, and the name of your 'Top Level Folder' is created by 'packaging:

the name of your team + the team 'nick name' + '-' + your last name

For example, the name of my 'Top Level Folder' is; El Camino HS Wildcats - Coker. When using a Windows 'XP' or '2000' computer the location (path) of
Level Folder' is; C:\Program Files\E Playbook\El Camino HS Wildcats - Coker. Inside your 'Top Level Folder' you will find the following 'sub directory' ar
El Camino HS Wildcats - Coker
                            Offense Defense
                          Formations Fronts
                      Opponent Formations Opponent Fronts
                            Plays Plays
                        Playbook Pages Playbook Pages

FLASH drive or CD/DVD - which to use
Moving files from one computer to another - use a FLASH drive
Backing-up files for long term safe keeping - use a CD or a DVD

FLASH drives are great for moving files from one computer to another. They are easy to use and are very fast (so it doesn't take long to copy files). T
'memory capacity' is from 256MB up to 2 GB (versus a 'floppy disk' which is 1.4MB). A typical E-Playbook 'play' is 10KB, so you can get 25,600 plays on a
FLASH drive. They are relatively inexpensive (from $10 to $40), and you can get them at any store that sells computers or computer supplies.

     typical FLASH/USB drive

CD's & DVD's are great for long term storage of 'important data'. The cost is dependent on the quantity that you purchase, typically $0.50 to $1.00. No
