MAPPER
QUEBEC REGION CHAMPION!
The MCE Minute Mapper is published monthly under the authority of the CO MCE. The intent is to highlight special events or ceremonies (but not limited to) taking place at MCE or in the city; or if a MCE member was/will be involved somewhere, somehow with slightly distorted but funny views and opinions; (which are not necessarily those of the Canadian Government, DND, the CO, the DCO, the RSM, the Sqn. OC’s, Officers, Sqn SSM’s, civilians, any NCM, the Editor, the layout pers or the cleaning staff). In other words no-one takes responsibility for the content.
OTTAWA STINGERS
CWO Dan Libby recently coached the CFSU(O) women’s hockey team to win the This is a pdf version, so Quebec Region championships, which were held at CFB Valcartier 9-12 Feb. (Coach- NO trees were killed... ing was obviously not a factor!)
The Ottawa Stingers put forth a valiant effort against Valcartier in the gold medal game to win 3-2. In the final 3 minutes of the game, Ottawa was penalty killing playing 5 on 3 hockey and showed superior defensive play, blocking shots and neutralizing Valcartier’s offense. Congratulations to the team and especially those within the Geo community, CWO Libby, Capt Bramma, and Sgt Arena. The team will go-on to compete at the CF Nationals at CFB Borden from 29 Mar to 3 Apr.

THE MINUTE MAPPER
On January 15 Sgt Arena did a presentation to a class of grade 5 students at Meadowlands Public School. She presented three shows on Afghanistan; one of the land and the peoples, the second explaining how’s life for the military members inside the camp, and the last one was a ramp ceremony at Kandahar airfield. She then responded to questions from the children about the video and her life in Afghanistan. THE CHILDREN LOVED IT!
In 1985 a bunch of guys with big hearts, lots of imagination and pride but lacking (a little) talent went out and made us proud! There was way too much snow that year and too much work. Yet they still had time (on the weekend) to show their MCE Esprit de Corps - OSTENDAMUS VIAM. Let’s get together and enter a sculpture next year!

SKI DAY AT CAMP FORTUNE
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!
It was a fabulous day (Good day, eh?) that our dear Adjudant (Capt Dan Cyr) wanted to happen. It did happen however without him! He dislocated his shoulder the week before (as seen on the x-ray picture) while skiing like a 20 year old (which he is, like twice and some!!!). Capt Dan should stick to Bingo or lawn bowling! Oh well... The day was fantastic, the food was good, and the tranquility because of the missing Adjt was soothing! BRAVO ZULU to Sgt Hawkins (aka Sgt Gulin) and GI&S Sqn crew!
JOHN WETZSTEIN RETIRES AFTER 33 YEARS!
It is with sadness (really) that John retires, which is evident by his sad face in the pictures. A luncheon will be held at noon on the 4th April at the Isaac’s 6400
in Sittsville. WO Ed Storey would like to have the names to him by the 28 March. Come out and bid John farewell.
Clean shaven on his last day!

We received some irrefutable proof that Dan Cyr is the father of Dan Pederson. Dan senior even thought stage presence and more importantly - how to dress!
