Issue 3 Installation Review Background Mazzaro's Italian Market (www.mazzarosmarket.com) if you have a love and a passion for all things Italian, if you have ever been to Italy and loved it, then this is the store for you. Family owned and operated for generations, this is not just wonderful food. Close your eyes and smell the air scented by fresh baked bread, rich coffee and redolent spices. Listen to the sounds of laughter, conversation and wonder echo through out the space to gather a sense of Old Italy in its purest form. The corners and walls are filled with heirlooms and charming collectibles from many trips. This is for all the senses, for all the family-a place with open arms. Solution After reviewing different software solutions, Mazzaro decided on Biztracker Retail Software. Mazzaro found Biztracker's Retail Software would allow him to improve transaction time, while implementing powerful inventory and control measures to streamline purchasing functions to insure adequate stock levels to meet customer demand. "By having solutions in place that protect and run the business we can focus on what's important, our customers and the overall shopping experience," noted Mazzaro. The 15" POSIFLEX JIVA 5800 touch terminal running Windows XP Pro was selected as the hardware platform. The terminal was bundled with an integrated magnetic stripe reader, the PD2500 customer display and a CR4100 cash drawer. The installation began in the winter of 2003 with Mazzaro's staff building the inventory database, a time consuming feat in that many small items did not originally have a SKU or Barcode number. Front-end training was accomplished in a short period of time due to Biztracker's easy to understand screen layout and intuitive touch screen interface. Challenge For years, Samsung 650 Terminals with scanners and a Back Office Software package for inventory control provided reliable service. "It was time to switch to a new hardware platform that would take us into the future and address our current challenges." stated Curt Mazzaro, owner of Mazzaro's Italian Market. The issues to address were speeding up the ordering process, improved inventory control, and faster credit card processing - all crucial in a fast paced environment like Mazzaro's. Results As a result, Biztracker Retailer Software has increased the volume of customers resulting in higher dollar volume sales. Today Mazzaro's Italian Market handles transactions more efficiently, eliminating customer wait time while improving the overall experience by allowing customers more time to enjoy the surroundings! www.biztracker.com We welcome your participation... share a success story, customer testimonial or any other news relative to POSIFLEX. Partners with POSIFLEX Resulting in Record Sales Background Located in the heart of the Dallas/Ft. Worth/Denton triangle, TRIANGLE POS, Inc. celebrates 10-years of providing point-of-sale systems to hospitality and retail businesses. Serving many high-profile businesses across multiple segments, its customers over the past decade, have included: American Airlines, General Cinema, Texas Instruments, Ace Hardware, Dairy Queen, Rice Boxx, Double Dave's Pizza Works, Williams Chicken, The Four Season's Resort and Club at Las Colinas, Spanish Cay Resort in the Bahamas and Vitro Laser headquartered in Germany. The majority of installations are located in Texas, but TRIANGLE POS also has customers in Oklahoma, Ohio, New Mexico, Nevada, Tennessee, Illinois, Georgia, Florida and the Bahamas. TRIANGLE POS initially grew their business by focusing on the independent "mom and pop" stores as their primary target market. However, in the last two years, they have developed partnerships with several corporate chain accounts establishing business relationships as the preferred VAR for point-of-sale to their franchisees. unique features, POSIFLEX also offered a comprehensive line of peripherals that allowed for one-stop shopping! TRIANGLE POS decided to migrate all of its hardware business to POSIFLEX to complement its core back-office Dell hardware and Star impact printers for the kitchen. This resulted in a seamless bundle package that made purchasing and warranty repair much easier on its internal staff. The one thing all these components had in common was a 3-Year Manufacturer's Warranty. "That's when it hit me," stated Joe Berryman, "that we could create an edge over the competition by being the first VAR in North Texas to offer our customers an unparalleled three-year hardware warranty and the latest Windows platform." This gave customers of TRIANGLE POS a choice of what was best for their business instead of having to buy a maintenance agreement. It also gave TRIANGLE POS peace of mind that the manufacturer backed the hardware investment. TRIANGLE POS quoted systems around the same price as their major POS competitors, but they showed prospective customers that Future POS with POSIFLEX offered greater value than the competition. Results Challenge "In 2000, our company recognized a decline in hospitality sales with our GUI, DOS-based POS product," said Joe Berryman, VP of Sales and Marketing for TRIANGLE POS, "we needed a progressive hardware solution and cutting-edge software to compete in the market place." The goal was to source a combination of products and services that would provide an important edge against their competitors. Selling a feature rich software application that offered "real value" out of the box, without having to discount the software to compete for business, was a crucial factor in the decision process when selecting a new POS software program. TRIANGLE POS completely revamped their entire POS offering, creating a brand new business model that increased their market share in North Texas. This bold marketing strategy was implemented in 2001 and, despite a downturn in the economy, produced a record number of installations and record sales volume in 2002 and 2003. TRIANGLE POS has consistently ranked as one of the top three Future POS resellers in nationwide sales for the past three years. They are also a POSIFLEX gold-level Key Reseller and rank as one of the top selling hardware dealers nationwide with approximately 300 JIVA terminals installed in restaurant and retail applications. Last year, TRIANGLE POS expanded its facilities and staff by adding a new Depot Service Repair Center. In addition to new system sales, TRIANGLE POS now provides replacement hardware sales and equipment repairs for several local and nationally recognized brand restaurant chains and their franchisees. Solutions Danny Vaughan, CEO of TRIANGLE POS, Inc. attended the ICRDA Convention in 2001 and was impressed with the Future POS software application running on POSIFLEX hardware. Future POS was attractive because it was a 32-bit Windows platform that did not require the purchase of expensive add-on modules. Future POS included all features in each license that other POS companies charged extra for, such as Reservations, Gift Card Tracking, Employee Scheduling, Inventory Control and more. This meant not having to strip features or undersell the competition to gain business. "We don't want to be the cheapest solution in the market, we simply want to sell the best overall POS solution at a fair price while providing superior service," noted Vaughan. POSIFLEX offered an all-in-one touch terminal with a 15" LCD and faster CPU processor than most of the competitive POS hardware. In addition to the terminal's Demo of the JIVA 7000 with electronic signature pad to Rice Boxx Corporation at the 2003 Southwest Foodservice Expo in Dallas, Texas www.futurepos.com the newsletter that keeps you informed Page 4 February 2004 . Issue 3 Nuts & Bolts 800 X 600… Not Clear? The 15” LCD panel on the TP-5815 has been set to 1024 X 768 as a factory standard. Although the display still works, when changing to 800 X 600 within the OS, the screen does lose its clarity. To improve this clarity, please follow these steps: 1. Boot the machine and ENTER the System BIOS 2. Select “Advanced Chipset Features”, and to “Panel Type” 3. For 1024 X 768, the Panel Type should be set to “02” as the default. For 800 X 600, change the “Panel Type” to “01”. 4. After this change is made, press “F10” and save the settings. 5. Reboot your machine. Clear! ASI Dealer Community Gives POSIFLEX Two Thumbs Up! Donnie Coffelt and Greg Feeback, Sales Representatives of POSIFLEX, made quite an impression on 100+ visitors at ASI's recent Annual Dealer Meeting on January 23-25, 2004. Donnie and Greg demonstrated the unique "single-screw" design used for accessing the HDD. This design has been incorporated into each JIVA terminal series 5000/6000/7000 to improve the serviceability of the unit.
