The Supply-Chain Council has announced the program for its 2002
Supply-Chain World-North America Conference & Exposition to be
held April 22-24 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, New Orleans,
Louisiana. Extending Collaboration to End-to-End Synchronization: Managing
the Supply Chain Network for Competitive Advantage is the theme. To view
this outstanding line-up of speakers or to register online, please visit
www.supplychainworld.org.
The practitioner-filled program features presentations on the latest supply chain management practices,
case studies, and SCOR implementation success stories from a wide variety of industries.
The event begins on Monday, April 22, with the keynote presentation "Courage is Contagious," from
John Kasich, host of "Heroes with John Kasich" on Fox News, and former U.S. Congressman and Chairman
of the House Budget Committee. Kasich will share his insights on the power of individual courage and how
ordinary people doing extraordinary things can help make America a better place for future generations.
Five concurrent breakout presentation tracks will follow that allow attendees to pick and choose from the
areas that most interest them. The presentations are grouped into the following tracks: Supply Chain
Performance, Supply Chain Collaboration, Partnerships and Outsourcing, Supply Chain Network Modeling,
Supply Chain Network Planning, and Enabling the Supply Network Through eBusiness Solutions. All tracks
will include a roundtable discussion regarding trends in their topic areas.
On Tuesday, April 23, Dr. John Langley, TLI Professor of Supply Chain Management, from the Georgia
Institute of Technology will deliver the keynote address. Day-long presentations will follow the five concur-
rent presentation track format featuring sessions from companies such as IBM, Intel, DaimlerChrylser, Dell,
Caterpillar, and General Motors.
Wednesday's events begin with meetings of the Aerospace & Defense,
Automotive, Chemicals, Educators and Retail & Consumer Goods Special Industry Supporting Sponsors
Groups (SIG). These groups serve as a forum for collaboration among supply-
chain practitioners, vendors and consultants within a specific industry. They pro-
mote a common standard language, consistent metrics, practical models and analytic
tools to expand and enhance leading SCM practices within their respective indus-
tries. There will also be a meeting for Educators to discuss how the SCC can help
bring SCOR into college curriculums.
The event concludes with an open meeting on SCOR technical development.
Advancing the SCOR-model is the subject of this meeting and it is open to all
conference attendees.
A SCOR Workshop will be held after the conference on April 25-26 at the Hyatt
Regency. This requires a separate registration and fee since attendance is limited
and the agenda is more rigorous.
Premier sponsorship for the event is provided by JD Edwards with additional
support from Aspen Technology, PeopleSoft, PRTM and SAP.

                                             Council Thanks Volunteers
The Supply-Chain Council would like to thank everyone for their work on the Council programs for 2001.
The incredible success of the SCC is due to the volunteer efforts of its members. Without the time, resources and
energy they have committed, the global nature of the organization and the profound improvements to the SCOR-
    model would not be possible.
The attached list contains the names of all those members from around the world who have contributed to the
success we are currently enjoying. This list was issued at the Winter Meeting and is published on the SCC’s web
site. Thousands of individuals will have an opportunity to view this list of Council volunteers.
