A Newsletter for the Preferred Members of Top Echelon Network, Inc. March 2006, Issue 2 The Biggest Surprise Is…. There Are No Surprises! Three recruiters within one recruiter agency have been successful in offering contracting services to their clients, in addition to permanent placements. Cindy Andrew Cordell, Carol Brinkman, and Jack Better of Corporate Resources (OH47) recently discussed their experience with our staff. Jack Better Jack currently has two active contractors working at the same client company in Ohio. Jack commented that, “My biggest surprise (with contracting) is that there were no surprises. Top Echelon Contracting takes care of all aspects dealing with the client company and the contractor. If the client company has some special needs on the contract, the Top Echelon staff tries to make sure they answer the client’s questions. My experience with the TE staff has been very positive. The whole process is easy and seamless.” After seeing how easy the process really is, Jack said, “I definitely promote contracting to all of my clients and look forward to putting together multiple contract placements through Top Echelon Contracting. The whole process is so easy that it makes it a positive experience for me to promote contracting to my clients. Receiving regular profit checks from Top Echelon Contracting makes me feel like I am working for another company as their employee. It takes a lot of pressure off you when you know you can count on a regular paycheck coming in from Top Echelon Contracting.” Cindy Andrew Cordell Cindy has earned over $141,000 over the life of one contract assignment for an AS400 Programmer in Kentucky. This placement has been renewed four times by her client. Andrew Cordell says, “This is my best client-- the IT Director was one of the first people I called when I tried to start contracting. I kept bugging him and then the placement happened.” She adds, “The company was originally going to hire this as a permanent position and at the last minute, changed their mind. The candidate was open to contract (he was between jobs at the time), willing to swing his own benefits through Top Echelon Contracting, and his assignment has been renewed four times. There have been two or three times they thought they might hire the candidate full time, but it never happened.” Andrew Cordell is a firm believer A contract staffing service provider that becomes the employer and specializes in the following: • • • • • Contract Staffing Temp-to-Hire 1099 Conversions Retiree Re-Staffing Internships Telephone: (330) 454-3508 Toll Free: (888) 627-3678 Fax: (330) 454-8891 Internet: www.TopEchelonContracting.com Mailing Address: P.O. We have been paid ten fold on this candidate. I do not make any contacts now without marketing contracting to my clients.” Carol Brinkman Carol, also of Corporate Resources (OH47), has four active assignments running at the same client. She has already earned over $65,000 on these placements, and they are expected to continue working throughout 2006. Brinkman states, “When it all boils down, contracting is not much different from perm recruiting. Your biggest surprises are unpredictable candidates, just as they usually are in the perm business. The Top Echelon Contracting staff is there to answer questions about contracting and to bounce around ideas. They are an important resource.” Brinkman reports that she always mentions contract staffing to her clients, as well as permanent placements. “This has helped me open up contracting at clients where I previously only made permanent placements,” she said. When asked how she likes receiving “regular” paychecks for contract staffing, as opposed to one lump-sum paychecks, Brinkman stated, “It doesn’t matter to me if the money comes in as one lump sum for a permanent placement or is paid over the duration of a contract. I do think it is important to evaluate your contract placement income against your permanent placements and make sure that the compensation warrants diverting your energy away from your perm business.” If you would like more information, please contact a Top Echelon Contracting Contract Administrator at (888) 327-3678 today!
