					SOURCE 16 – CENSUS RETURNS for NORTH WILTSHIRE

These are arranged first by parish and then by date.
Census dates are: 06jn1841, 30mr1851, 07ap1861, 02ap1871, 03ap1881, 05ap1891.
Entries for 1851, 1861, 1871 and 1881 are supposedly complete.
Limited entries for a few other dates are also included.

The information available varies with census and with the amount of detail I have so far been able to obtain.
The lay out, which is flexible, is Location, Name, Age, Marital status, Status in family, Trade or profession,
Place of birth.
Apparently the 1901 census contains nationwide the names of 756 Gleeds broken down as follows:
0 – 40 years 279 male, 276 female; 41 – 80 years 93m, 105f and Over 80 3f ages 82, 84 and 84.
