We did not have enough “news” to do a newsletter for January but I wanted to send out the following important information everyone needs to know right away or at least be considering during the next month. I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year and I look forward to seeing you throughout the next several months with lots of activities going on-
Art Department- Alecia DySard
Our local arts festival will be held on Saturday, January 10th from 8am- 11am at The Factory's Mill Room. Come out and support our local schools and fellow club women by viewing their art submissions. Winners from our Local Festival will compete at the District Festival held at the First Baptist Church in Raleigh, on Saturday, February 21, 2009. The First Place Winners from the District Festival will move on to competition at the State Arts Festival at Salem College in WinstonSalem, on March 21, 2009. Last year we had two club women take 1st place at District!
Renaissance Ball- Anne Pfitzer
The Renaissance Ball is coming up on February 21st, from 7pm until 11pm. It is the same day as the District Arts Festival. This is an important fund raiser for us. We also share the profits with the DRC and the Boys and Girls Club. This is a big event and we will need participation from all of you -either by volunteering to help that night or by purchasing and selling tickets. The cost of the tickets is $55 per person. You may either contact me to purchase one or many stores around downtown are also selling them. The Club is asking that each member please sell at least 2 tickets. I sign up sheet for volunteering went around on Tuesday night. If this is a way you would like to help, please contact me as well. Let me know if you have questions!
