 reported, as part of a wider epidemiological study of the health behaviors of pregnant women in one city's experience, nearly 1 in 2 otherwise healthy term babies born in hospital were observed to have tremors. Unlike epileptic seizures, neonatal jitters are not associated with ocular phenomena (such as eye deviation or fixation) or cardiovascular changes, tend to be stimulus sensitive and may be attenuated with passive flexion and ictal electroencephalographic recordings do not demonstrate any consistent or specific abnormalities [ 1 , 4].
