Being a green company is more than just saying you're green, but for some that's where it ends. To become green and give yourself a competitive advantage, real -- and sometimes difficult -- action is key. From there, official certification may also be practical, depending on your client base. Regardless of your reasons, getting green certified is a bold move ahead of potential government regulations -- and it could soon be required by some international bodies with stricter environmental policies. Since 1989, Green Seal has been using science-based certification standards to evaluate the environmental practices of US businesses. They work with countless industry sectors, manufacturers, purchasing groups and governments at all levels to "green" the production and purchasing chain. Greenergy2030 offers two levels of certification, with different benefits packages and requirements. The organization provides certified companies with quite a few online resources, including Green Toolkits and access to their large community.
