NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League
he NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League was designed to build the ranks of the
racers of tomorrow, offering kids ages 8 through 17 the chance to race
half-scale dragsters on an eighth-mile course at participating NHRA
Just like NHRA’s many classes for
adult racers, the NHRA Jr.
Drag Racing League has
room for every type of
racing family. Competition
is equalized by a handicap starting
system, and classes are usually divided into age groups, which helps keep
racers of the same skill level together.
For $19 a year, children of all ages can join the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing
League and receive six issues of Jr. DRAGSTER. For those who will enter
races, membership is $29 a year.
he $250 NHRA Perfectly Strange Performance Award is given to the
first Super Stock, Stock, Super Gas, Super Comp, and Super Street
racer who wins an eliminations round by running exactly on his or her
dial or index during any NHRA national event.
An unclaimed award is
rolled over to the
following event until the
award is claimed. All
drivers must display
official program decals to
be eligible for a share of
