Effective June 29th, 2007 To: All Freedom Apartment Residents Re: Placement and disposition of Bulk Trash Items Dear Tenant: A notice was placed in the Rental Office 3 weeks ago notifying every one of changes to the handling of large furniture items and appliances for trash removal. The procedures for disposing of special trash items are to contact the landlord or landlords’ office to notify, and call the appropriate number for the item pick-up. Special collection items are below:
SPECIAL COLLECTIONS Large Metal Items: Appliances, hot water heaters, the detachable frame from a sleep sofa, etc., are collected when pickup begins. Up to 3 items per year will be taken at no charge per resident; the cost for extra items will be $25 each. Please call 589-3410 to make a request for collection. Oversize Bulky Waste: Acceptable waste which doesn't fit in the cart - mattresses, some furniture, or bundles of brush - are collected separately when pickup begins. Up to 5 items per year will be taken at no charge; the cost for extra items will be $25 each. Please call 589-3410 to make a request for collection. Tires: Up to 4 tires per year may be called in for pickup at no charge when pickup begins; NO commercial tires are accepted at curbside or at the Four Hills Landfill. Please call 589-3410 to make a request for collection.
Due to a recent outbreak of tenants leaving couches, chairs, TV’s and other furniture items outside their buildings, and not notifying the rental office or landlord, The following changes are required; any person seen or reported leaving furniture, appliances or other special collection items will have a $40 charge applied to their rent PER ITEM. Furthermore, if an item can be confirmed in your unit by Freedom Apartment staff or its contractors you will be charged. The charge is not a fine, this is the cost of the disposal by solid waste + the labor + fuel. The city of Nashua has a very liberal trash collection policy and we urge you all to take advantage of that, however the landlord will no longer incur charges for tenants who cannot throw away their trash in the prescribed manner. As you know, Freedom Apartments and Mr. Eckler make every effort to ensure you have the items needed for your apartments, and even help out when someone needs furnishing. Please return the courtesy by not causing preventable charges and fines by the city to your landlord.
