SAMPLE CONGREGATIONAL THANK-YOU LETTERS
Letter #1
DATE ADDRESS Dear ______________, “Let us then pursue what makes for peace and mutual upbuilding.” Romans 4:19 Thank you for your generosity! With gifts like yours, we work towards peace and justice in the world. Your gift of $_______ to the United for Peace Campaign will touch many lives! It will enable us to participate with others in the struggle for the right to peace with dignity for all God’s people. Partners in Latin America, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Canada will be able to support women, children, interfaith and ecumenical groups, and civil society organizations. Your gift will assist with education, awareness, advocacy, counselling, accompaniment, and prevention. Throughout its history, the United Church has stood for justice and peace in the world. In response to the current challenges to peace, our United in Peace Campaign was mandated by General Council in August 2006 to supplement the peace work that is already made possible in the world through the Mission and Service Fund. It will continue to December 31, 2009. The goal is a $2 million fund to enable the church to support more peace work in all parts of the globe. Gifts from supporters such as you can make this work happen! Again, thank you on behalf of all those who would want to express their gratitude. Together in Mission and Ministry,
