Catholic Ministry for Young Adults of the Clear Lake Area

To Whom It May Concern: Thank you for your consideration of our request for fund-raising support. We are seeking donations for our annual fund-raising event. This year the Bay Area Young Adults is hosting a PACCO Casino Night on September 27, 2003, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Clear Lake. The proceeds from this event will benefit The Holy Family Clinic, an inner-city health ministry offering subsidized health care to the poor, medically underserved, and uninsured individuals in the Ship Channel Area. PACCO, Parish Activities for Catholic Communication Organization, is a non-profit umbrella group that maintains linkage between the Catholic young adult ministries of various churches in the Galveston-Houston area. The Bay Area Young Adults (BAYA), a member of PACCO, is centered in Clear Lake. Many of the Catholic churches in the Clear Lake area are group members of Bay Area Young Adults. With this year’s event, we hope to generate participation of more than 200 attendees from all over Houston, which is an average for our first two years of fund-raising events. Such a level of attendance should generate at least $2000 in funds for the Holy Family Clinic. Community sponsorship through donations is extremely important to support adequate turnout. We would be very grateful for whatever assistance you are able to provide to make this fund-raiser a great success. We are happy to include the names of our community sponsors with our other Casino Night supporters and volunteers in an appropriate display at the event. As mentioned above, the proceeds generated from this year’s event will support the Holy Family Clinic’s efforts to provide health services including spiritual, physical, psychological, and social aspects of care to individuals in an area of great need. The last Casino Night fundraiser benefited Serenity House, a program offering affordable housing both to cancer patients who travel to Houston for medical treatment and to their families. Since the inception of this annual event, our efforts to provide financial support to primarily local charities have been facilitated by sponsors, corporate contributors, and volunteers from our community and surrounding communities.
