August 28, 2005 Mr. David Porter Technical Center Manager ABC Packaging Company 123 Center Street New Bright, PA 22888 Dear Mr. Porter: Thank you for a very enjoyable and informative interview yesterday. I am very interested in the internship position and would welcome an opportunity to work with you.
As a junior in the School of Packaging at Michigan State University, I am seeking to expand my knowledge of the field and to make worthwhile contributions to my employing company as well. I was happy to learn that you utilize interns much the same way as full-time packaging engineers in your department by offering challenging and important projects. Based on my leadership and communication skills as discussed in the interview there is no doubt that I can fully and successfully meet the responsibilities of this position. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, (your signature goes here) David A. Student
