                        Speaker Lineup Set for
                   Integrated Office Conference '96

 Top computer columnist, John C. Dvorak; Xerox VP, Beau Vrolyk;
and Novell VP, Marc Epstein named as keynotes.

SAN DIEGO, CA / September 16, 1996 - The MultiFunction Peripheral Association (MFPA) today
released its complete speaker list for the MFPA’s upcoming “Integrated Office Conference ’96”
(IOC ’96). Scheduled for October 21 - 23 at the Mission Valley Marriott in San Diego, California,
the rapidly growing event is expected to draw over 200 top computer development professionals,
marketers and executives.

Now in its second year, IOC ’96 has become a “one-stop shopping center” for critical technical and
strategic information about fax, data transfer, scanning, copying and printing technologies in
addition to design and development information for multifunction peripherals or MFPs. Held in
cooperation with the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), IOC ’96 is also rapidly
becoming the focal point for computer and communications industry standards discussions.

Kicking off IOC ’96 on Monday with the opening keynote will be John C. Dvorak, well-known
computer columnist and industry futurist. Known for his strong opinions, acerbic wit and “no holds
barred” speaking style, Dvorak is scheduled to address key issues for peripheral developers and
manufacturers including industry trends, consumer product requirements and future technologies.
Although, in true Dvorak style, he may have a few surprises up his sleeves.

Marc Epstein, Vice President and General Manager of Novell’s Network Services Division will
headline Tuesday with a presentation on Novell’s hardcopy strategies for the Internet/intranet.

For Wednesday’s closing keynote, Beau Vrolyk, Vice President and General Manager of Xerox’
workgroup products division, will be speaking to global peripheral and multifunction product
marketing issues from the perspective of one of the industry’s largest players.

The conference features a full range of seminars, presentations, panel discussions and speeches as
well as hosted meals and special events. Three tracks of over thirty sessions covering technical and
marketing issues are scheduled along with an exhibit hall for manufacturers and developers to
display their products and services. An optional pre-conference “Fax / Data Update” seminar series
will be conducted by TIA. Also scheduled are presentations and discussions of the MFPA’s own
Multifunction Peripheral Interface (MFPI) standard.
