Sample Letter to Parents
Dear parents: In the coming weeks, we will be working on a fundraising project called Kids For Wish Kids®. This project is designed to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Oregon, an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions who live throughout Oregon and Clark County, Washington. The Kids for Wish Kids program is a valuable teaching tool for a variety of reasons. The students will develop and use their creative abilities by organizing their own fundraising projects here at the school. In addition, with the help of their teachers, the kids will enhance their math skills by keeping track of the money that they raise. Finally, Kids For Wish Kids will teach compassion and generosity for other kids who are facing life-threatening conditions. Best of all, your children will have fun doing it. Teachers from other schools that have participated in the program tell us that Kids For Wish Kids is an outstanding addition to the classroom. The students who have participated agree that the satisfaction of helping make dreams come true for local kids is a feeling like no other.
