The Don Cook Natatorium has two eight lane, 25 yard pools. Colorado Automatic Timing Equipment with an
eight lane read out will be used. Facility is located at 16255 Lexington Blvd, Sugar Land, TX. It is

SANCTION: This meet is held under the sanction of USA Swimming and Gulf Swimming. All swimmers must
be currently registered USA Swimming athletes for 2000. The "No Recall" procedure will be used at this meet.
Any swimmer starting before the starting signal has been given, shall be disqualified. If the starting signal sounds
before the disqualification is declared, the race shall continue and the swimmer or swimmers shall be disqualified
upon completion of the race. If the disqualification is declared before the starting signal, the signal shall not be
given, but the remaining swimmers shall be called back, be reminded by the starter of the penalties, and start
LIABILITY: In granting this sanction, it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming, Inc., Gulf Swimming,
The Don Cook Natatorium, First Colony Swim Team and all meet officials shall be free from any liabilities or
claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone while traveling to and from or during the conduct of the
event. Damage to the facility, when proved, will cause the offending swimmer, if unattached, or the offending
swimmer’s club, if attached, to be held accountable for repairs.
RULES: 2000 USA Swimming, Gulf Swimming and Texas Swimming Association rules will apply. Texas
Swimming Association safety guidelines and warm-up procedures, attached hereto, will be in effect at this meet.
SCHEDULE : Warm-up 10:00 a.m. - 11:40 a.m. In both of the competitive pools.
South: Lanes 1-4
North: Lanes 5-8
Meet Starts at 12:00 p.m.
DECK ACCESS: Deck access will be strictly limited to swimmers, coaches, officials, and meet personnel
unless specifically authorized by the Meet Director. All persons on deck must have current U.S.A. Swimming
registration credentials available.
ELIGIBILITY: Swimmers placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in their qualifying meets in any All Star event shall
automatically earn a spot on their All Star Team and must be allowed to swim at least one individual event for
which they have qualified. Swimmers placing 4th and 5th in 50 Freestyle shall earn a position on their respective
team for relay events. If any of the top three swimmers in an event (top 5 in the 50 Freestyle) do not intend to
participate in the dual meet, the next highest finishing swimmer in that event will qualify. Each swimmer who
participates in the All Star meet must have the All Star Liability and Medical Release signed by a parent or
guardian and given to the Meet Director at either the qualifying meet or the All Star Meet. These forms are
required prior to the All Star competition.
AGE: Swimmer’s age as of November 19, 2000.
ENTRY LIMIT: Swimmers will be limited to three events including relays for the day. No entries will be
accepted unless the entrant is registered with USA Swimming Inc.
ENTRY FEE: The entry fee, as set by TSA, is $10.00 per swimmer, which will cover the cost of one
North/South T-shirt; one North/South team cap and the dinner following the event.
ENTRY DEADLINE: The names and USA Swimming registration numbers of all probable swimmers who
might compete in the meet must be received by 5:00 PM on Thursday, November 16, 2000. We recommend
you do not use the U.S. Postal Service registered, certified or regular mail.

Entries must be submitted on Dual Meet three part forms on Sunday, November 19, 2000. Two copies of the
entries are to be submitted to the meet referee by 11:50 AM. Each team will swim in assigned lanes. South will
swim in lanes: 1-3-5-7 and North will swim in lanes: 2-4-6-8
SCORING: Individual Events 6-4-3-2-1
Non-scoring swimmers will be allowed in an event at the All Star meet only if an outside lane
(South - lane 1; North - lane 8) in the proper age group and event is available, and if the swimmer
does not exceed the three event limit
AWARDS: No awards will be given.
CONCESSIONS: Will be available. Hospitality will be available for officials, coaches and workers.
HEAT SHEETS: No heat sheet will be provided. A program for the meet will be available with a list of team
members, North/South history, North/south meet records and order of events. Cost: $1.00
FINAL RESULTS: Will be mailed to all participating clubs within one week. Additional copies will be
available from the Meet Director for $5.00. Results will also be posted on the Internet at
DINNER: Will be served immediately following the conclusion of the meet. All North/South meet participants
will be provided a meal ticket. Additional tickets will be available for $7.00 each.

General Warm-up (60 minutes)
- NO DIVING from the blocks or pool edge. Swimmers enter the water feet first in a cautious manner.
- No sprinting or pace work permitted.
- All lanes to be used for general warm-up
Specific Warm-up (40 minutes)

- Push/Pace Lanes: Push off from starting end- circle swimming only.
- Race Starts: Sprint lanes for race starts and backstroke starts. Race starts at designated times, swimming
in one direction only.
- General Warm-up: No diving or sprinting. Circle swimming only
Safety Guidelines *
- Coaches shall instruct their swimmers reguarding the safety guidlines and warm-up procedures.
- Coaches shall supervise swimmers throughout the warm-up session.
- A minimum of one marshall for each two lanes shall be on deck to enforce the safety guidlines and warm-
up procedures. The marshalls shall report to the Meet Referee and/or head marshall and receive instructions
- The marshalls shall have the authority to remove from the deck for the remainder of the warm-up session
any swimmer or coach who refuses to adhere to the safety guidelines or warm-up procedures.
- Warm-up procedures shall be incuded in the meet information.
- Discretion and common sense shall always prevail during warm-up. Therefore, the Meet Referee may
modify any procedures should the needs of the meet so dictate.
* These Warm-Up Procedures and Safety Guidelines were adopted by the Texas Swimming
Association October, 1987, to conduct North/South All-Star competition and Texas Age Group
Swimming Competitions (TAGS).
