       SAN DIEGO, CA (July 10, 2006) – The Grand Del Mar, a luxurious 261-room resort and
spa now being developed by Manchester Grand Resorts in North San Diego County, has named
Amy Butterfield national sales manager.
       According to Rob Stirling, the resort’s director of sales and marketing, in her new
position, Butterfield will handle the West Coast corporate market with an emphasis on
banking, law, pharmaceutical and biotechnology.
       A hospitality industry veteran with nearly 20 years of catering and sales experience in
local and convention markets, she was most recently the director of catering and convention
services for the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine, where she worked for 15 years. Prior to her
tenure with Hyatt, Butterfield was the catering manager at the Marriott La Jolla.
       Active in the San Diego community, she is a member of the Red Rose Society of the
American Red Cross and of Les Dames d’ Escoffier, a leadership organization composed of
women who have achieved success in their respective culinary and hospitality professions, while
making significant contributions to their community.
       Butterfield is a native San Diegan, and now lives in La Jolla with her husband and three
children. She attended Wellesley College in Boston for two years, and graduated with a Bachelor
of Arts in Political Science from UC Berkeley.
