Sample Letter to Request a Meeting with a Member of Congress
You can use this to craft your own letter, which should be printed on your organization’s
letterhead and faxed to the attention of the Scheduler in your Senator or Representative’s office on
or about February 9. Please remember to call and follow up with the scheduler.
Dear (Name of Scheduler):
I would like to schedule a meeting with (Representative/Senator) (name) on March 12,
2009 between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. I represent (insert name of agency), a Child Care
Resource & Referral agency serving (insert city/regional information). I would like to
discuss the critical need for high-quality child care in our community and how
(Representative/Senator)’s leadership can help. IF YOU ARE ALSO GOING TO
