"A letter to the Parents and Guardians of Ms"
A letter to Mrs. Fenstermacher’s Chemistry Students Dear Student, Welcome! I’m Mrs. Fenstermacher, and I will be your chemistry teacher for the year 2008-2009. I am looking forward to getting to know you and helping you have a successful year in science. As your teacher, I have big responsibilities: 1. To treat you with respect and care as an individual 2. To provide you with an orderly classroom 3. To provide the necessary discipline 4. To provide the appropriate motivation 5. To teach you the required content As a student, you also have big responsibilities: 1. To treat me with respect and care as an individual 2. To attend classes regularly 3. To be cooperative and not disruptive 4. To study and do your work (effort = success) 5. To learn and master the required content In order to get on the road to success, I expect you to have the following materials: A three ring binder, loose-leaf paper (these first two may also be substituted with a spiral bound notebook and a wallet folder), a scientific calculator, pencils, blue or black pens, and 1 composition book to serve as an agenda book. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU COULD DONATE A 4-PACK OF COLORED EXPO WHITEBOARD MARKERS TO YOUR CLASS SUPPLY, BUT THIS IS NOT REQUIRED. Also, I like to communicate! If you have questions or concerns throughout the year, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. You may use any of the following ways to get in touch with me: Contacting Mrs. Janet Fenstermacher: At school: Please leave me a note in my main office mailbox. Using the phone: (703) 228-5378. Please call this science department number between 7am and 3pm and or call the main school number and leave a message on my voice mailbox—Ext. ____. Keeping up to date with assignments: Copy the daily agenda in your agenda book every day at the beginning of class. It will include your daily assignments and notices about long-term project due dates and test dates. If you miss a class, make sure that you copy the agenda from a classmate. Don’t copy one from another class, as different classes are on different schedules. I will collect your agenda book at the end of every other WEEK and give you points for its completeness. Once again, I look forward to having you in class. Remember to keep this page in your notebook. Sincerely, Mrs. Fenstermacher
