My letter to the landlord
July 30, 2007 Jay Baugher 1201 6th Ave #4 Denver, Colorado 80210 Sam Skinflint, Mgr. Shady Properties Real Estate 14089 Shady Lane Aurora, Colorado 80340 I am writing in regard to the security deposit of $500 which I paid when I rented apartment 310 at 1200 Willshire Ave. Denver, Colorado. You have not returned the security deposit or notified me, in writing, of your reason for keeping the deposit within the time period allowed by Colorado law. Colorado law provides that if a landlord wrongfully keeps a security deposit, she/he must pay 3 times the damages, attorney’s fees, and court costs. Please return my deposit to me within seven days of getting this letter. If you fail to do so, I will pursue legal remedies available to me under Colorado law. Sincerely,
