1. MEASURES AGAINST INTRUSION OF PIRATES

    The Master shall take preventive measures against intrusion of pirates at night (from one
    hour before sunset to one hour after sunrise) while the vessel is navigating waters where
    possibility of piracy exists. Especially waters around the Anambas Islands and the
    Malacca-Singapore Strait where piracy occurs frequently shall be paid great attention.


         For the Countermeasures Against Intrusion of Pirates:
         Refer to the Measures Against Intrusion of Pirates (APPENDIX-A)


2. MEASURES AGAINST INTRUSION OF PIRATES AND ROBBERS AT
   ANCHOR OR DURING DRIFTING

    When the vessel is at anchor or drifts in waters where possibility of attack of pirates or
    robbers, such as ports of Africa, the east coast of South America, and Indonesia, and
    waters around them, off Colombo, and so on, the Master shall take similar measures as
    the above-mentioned to secure the vessel.


3. MEASURES AGAINST ILLEGAL INSPECTION AND ASSAULT BY
   SUSPICIOUS SHIP
    During navigating in waters where possibilities of occurrence of illegal inspection or
    assault, the Master shall keep strict watch all the time, and if a suspicious ship is
    discovered, navigate the vessel keeping the distance from the ship as much as possible
    to avoid a trouble.
    The ship of Japanese flag shall hoist a Japanese flag all the time during navigation in the
    above waters to show that the vessel is a Japanese ship.
    The East and South China Seas, where such troubles occur frequently, shall be paid
    special attention.

4. MEASURES TO BE TAKEN FOR PIRACY, AND ILLEGAL INSPECTION
   OR ASSAULT BY SUSPICIOUS SHIPS

     In the event of piracy, or illegal inspection or assault by suspicious ships, the Master
     shall give a notice to the nearest marine Safety Agency or Maritime Rescue Coordination
     Center (RCC) of each country or the like immediately, and treat the matter with Safety of
     life first kept in mind.
