JOB TITLE:            Supporter Recruitment and Retention Assistant


1      MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To work under the direction and supervision of the Supporter Recruitment and Retention Officer
to implement Christian Aid’s direct marketing fundraising activities.


2.     POSITION IN ORGANISATION

Managed by Recruitment and Retention Officer
Liases regularly with other CA departments (i.e. CIU, BDP, Editorial)
Liases regularly with external contacts (i.e. direct marketing agency, telephone fundraising
agency)


3      SCOPE OF JOB

To assist the Recruitment and Retention Officer with the project management of specific direct
marketing activities as outlined in CA’s direct marketing plan - e.g. direct mail, loose inserts,
doordrop, telephone fundraising, CA News carrier, online fundraising.


4      DIMENSIONS & LIMITS OF AUTHORITY

To carry out duties as directed by the Recruitment and Retention Officer
To be responsible for accurately collating internal amends from relevant CA departments
To be responsible for accurately briefing external agencies on internal amends


5      QUALIFICATIONS

Essential
   • A good general education up to diploma level or equivalent (both in a relevant field)


6      EXPERIENCE

Essential
   • Essential: Experience of working in fundraising or marketing

Desirable
   • Project management. Working with agencies and other creative suppliers.
7.       DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assisting with project management of direct marketing fundraising appeals 60%

     •   Sourcing relevant stories/case histories & photographs from Communication Information
         Officers for the inclusion in project creative briefs.

     •   Liasing with external agencies (e.g. CA’s direct marketing agency, telephone fundraising
         agency) in the development of creative work for specific projects.

     •   Obtaining internal comments & amends from relevant CA departments (e.g. BDP,
         Editorial etc.) on initial concepts, copy/scripts, artwork & print proofs.

     •   Feeding back internal comments/amends to external suppliers (e.g. direct marketing
         agency, telemarketing agency).

     •   Proof reading all direct marketing materials and checking that amends have been done.

     •   Checking and signing off laser proofs

     •   Supplying internal/external data for specific projects

     •   To liaise with Supporter Relations Team regarding the set up and implementation of
         response handling for each project

Results analysis & reporting                                                 30%
   • To run results reports from CA database for each project and keep up results
      spreadsheets up to date

     •   To manage and maintain a results file and guard book of direct marketing materials for
         each project

Administration                                                                        10%

     •   To manage project files and ensure filing is kept up to date

     •   To check supplier invoices for accuracy against approved quotations
