To attain a safe and quick installation process, this docu‐ ment guides the PLANT DESIGNER through all the interfaces between the plant and the TiTech equipment. When your preinstallation work is completed, please contact a TITECH Project Manager. The Project Manager will confirm the time schedule and arrangements for the installation. NOTE Also note that during installation you have to be prepared to assist the TITECH Service engineer in lifting heavy modules into place. It is therefore imperative that suitable lifting gear or a fork‐lift and operator is available at site. NOTE If no security measures according to the national security advices were taken, TITECH employees will leave the site at the expense of the plant builder/ cus‐ tomer. 4 PIR-KO-0001-Rev 1.0-en 1 Pre-Installation Requirements Storage and transport 1 Storage and transport The storage space shall be kept closed and only one responsible person should have access to the equipment. The space shall be dry and provide a constant temperature. The machine has to be protected against direct sunlight and moisture. It should be stored in a hall or enclosure. If there is the need for intermediate storage, the following storage rules shall be followed: • Temperature from ‐10°C to 50°C and humidity <60% • No intermediate storage outside • Leave the original packaging as it is • Do not expose the equipment to gas, steam or liquid, even if still packed NOTE TITECH systems are not designed for outdoor operation. Customers are responsible for any damages caused by water impact on the system! TITECH autosort systems consist of a scanner unit (fig.: 4.1) with control unit (fig.: 4.2) and up to two valve blocks at the end of conveyor. The figure 1 shows a high mounted system with a single valve block (fig.: 4.4). Input material is fed evenly onto an acceleration conveyor (fig.: 4.12), where it is detected by the TITECH scanner unit that scans the complete width of the belt in a line. If the scan‐ ner unit detects material to be sorted out, it commands the control unit to blow the right valves of the valve block at the end of the acceleration conveyor. The sorted material is lifted by the air jets to an upper conveyor. The rest is falling onto a lower conveyor or bunker. A minimum of two fractions is created out of an input material stream. Using two valve blocks provides at least one additional fraction. 8 PIR-KO-0001-Rev 1.0-en 3 Pre-Installation Requirements Customer scope of supply !CAUTION! Caution In case the TITECH standard arrangement can not be used please contact the TITECH Project Management. 3 Customer scope of supply This chapter defines the equipment that the customer shall provide and the requirements associated with it. Costumer scope of supply has to be finished prior to the installation of the TITECH autosort unit. The customer is responsible for supplying and installing the following equipment: • Acceleration conveyor (if not bought as option) • Override lock switch for security locking of the conveyors during service • Separation chamber with adjustable splitter • Valve block mounting bracket • Scanner Frame • Support Frame • PLC interface cable to the bottom of the control unit • Compressed air tube with connection hose to the air pressure regulator (see figure 8) • Vibrating table (if applicable) • Gangway with rails • Main power cable to the bottom of the control unit • Power connection shall be performed by authorized local technician. • Network cabling • Required space for service 3.1. TITECH conveyor belt (if not bought as option) Supplying and installing the conveyor belt to be used with the TITECH equipment requires some important parameters to be carefully considered and prepared. 1. Belt running characteristics • Constant conveyor belt speed is mandatory • To avoid moving objects, the conveyor belt shall not oscillate in‐ between scan line and end of conveyor • A sliding conveyor is required at the distance from the scanner to the valve block. Therefore a flat support below the belt shall be installed. 2. Belt material • Black rubber • Depending on the application, also a black PVC belt can be used 3. Belt width • The conveyor belt width shall be wider than the TITECH scanner width PIR-KO-0001-Rev 1.0-en 9 Pre-Installation Requirements Customer scope of supply 3 due to the side wall skirt (see figure 5) 4. Side walls • The side walls have to be perpendicular to the belt • No screw heads or other obstacles have to interfere with the passage of objects. • The maximum wall height is 340 mm. • The side walls shall not jut out over the center of the rear guide pulley. • For track sorting (option) the color of the dividing wall shall be black beneath the scanner. • The side wall skirt shall be made of black material, for instance rubber, and under no circumstances reduce the TITECH scanner width by more than 10 mm on each side. 1. Belt scrapper/brush • The reflection from the surface of the belt shall not vary. Keep the belt as clean as possible. Mount a rubber scraper/brush or other cleaning devices underneath the conveyor belt. 3.2. Support Frame (if not bought as option) Following equipment is installed on the support frame: • Scanner frame • Control unit • Air pressure • Light barrier The construction of the supported frame is shown in drawing T0126. The support frame shall fulfill the following requirements: • The scanner shall not vibrate during operation. • Avoid connection between the support frame and the conveyor frame. 10 PIR-KO-0001-Rev 1.0-en 3 Pre-Installation Requirements Customer scope of supply 3.3. Scanner Frame (if not bought as option) The scanner frame holds the scanner on the support frame. Following possibilities are available: • High mounted systems with scanner width 600/1000/2000. Reference drawing T0325 • High mounted systems with scanner width 1400/2800. Reference drawing T0331 • Low mounted systems. Reference drawing T0217 NOTE Only the related drawing for your TITECH autosort is allocated to this document. 3.4. Separation chamber (if not bought as option) The separation chamber guides the material to the right material stream. The sep‐ aration chamber for the sorted material shall be made and installed as shown on drawing T0260, sheet 5, pos 1 and T0260, sheet 1, pos 10. The rear wall should consist of a textile curtain (T0260, sheet 5, pos 6), which will act as a shock absorber for the objects discharged and prevent “bounce back”. NOTE A TITECH separation chamber design can be delivered as an option. • The separation chamber shall be adequately ventilated (T0260, sheet 5, pos 7) to avoid overpressure inside of the separation chamber. • Also ensure openings for cables and air hoses as seen in the example on T0260, sheet 5, pos 3 and in figure 6. Fig. 6: Cut out for hoses and cables • At least one door for access to the separation chamber shall be provided as shown on T0260, sheet 5, pos 2. • For the safe maintenance of the valve block ensure that a safe footrest is available which allowing working on the valve block. PIR-KO-0001-Rev 1.0-en 11 Pre-Installation Requirements Customer scope of supply 3 3.5. Splitter The splitter separates the sorted material from the remaining material. The splitter shall fulfill the following requirements: • The splitter shall be adjustable. • The position of the adjustable splitter versus conveyor belt roller is shown on T0260, sheet 5, pos 5, C ‐ D. • The splitter shall be designed with a motor operated roller on the top edge (T0260, sheet 1, pos 6). This roller simplifies the removal of video‐ tape, films etc that may hang on the splitter. • The height and distance to the valve block will be dependent on the speed of the conveyor belt and the composition of the material. The TITECH engineer will supervise the adjustments and fixing of the split‐ ter during commissioning. 3.6. Valve block If the TITECH autosort is turned off and no cleaning air is active, the valve block shall be covered when the conveyor belt is moved. Otherwise the valves will be clogged. For cleaning or exchange of valves, caused by moving conveyor belt with‐ out cleaning air, the costumer will be in charge. 3.7. Gangway • A gangway with handrails shall be installed on both sides of the sorter to facilitate and secure personnel accessing the doors. 1. Conveyor belt 2. Scanner unit 3. Separation chamber 4. Space requirements For service access to the interior of the scanner unit the free height above the unit shall be as defined on drawing T0260, sheet 4, tables G and F and in drawing T0260, sheet 3, pos 1. . 12 PIR-KO-0001-Rev 1.0-en 4 Pre-Installation Requirements Compressed air supply 4 Compressed air supply The sorting device shall be supplied with compressed air to the air inlet of the air pressure regulator unit (figure 8, pos 3). The interface is the inlet hose nipple of the air pressure regulator delivered by TITECH. The customer has to provide a compressed air tubing or hose with a connection hose of min. 1000 mm up to the inlet, including the clamps to fix the hose. The location of the inlet hose nipple is shown on page 9 in figure 4. Note that for each valve block one air regulator will be delivered. Action is required but not necessarily immediately (the problem should be fixed in the next break). PIR-KO-0001-Rev 1.0-en 17 Pre-Installation Requirements Control Unit 5 The sequence diagram below provides information for programming a PLC. The diagram shows signal dependencies and timing. Fig. 12: Sequence diagram for PLC programming 1. Boot phase: After switching on the power switch the computer needs about 50 sec. to be ready for sorting. 2. Light barrier error: When the beam of the light barrier is interrupted due to a material jam the lights will turn off after approx. 4 sec. and the “Material jam alarm” signal is set and sorting stops. When the jam is removed sorting starts automatically. 3. Common Warning: This signal is set if the system operates outside normal limits. Warning details are displayed on the screen. Possible causes: • Lamps are in bad condition • Long tape remains under the scanner 4. Enable sorter: To switch sorting on/off by remote control. The signal shall be set when the belt moves and reset before the belt is stopped. 5. Internal error: In case of an internal error of the TITECH device causing a stop of the sorting, the “Sorter ready” signal is set to off. Then usually a user action is necessary. 6. Lighting manual: For service, the system can be operated without signal “enable sorter”. 7. Stop: Be careful: The acceleration band should overtravel around 3s. 18 PIR-KO-0001-Rev 1.0-en 5 Pre-Installation Requirements Control Unit NOTE The warning signal "Caution Lighting manual" shall be kept under surveillance by the Plant’s Control system in order to report a dangerous condition at the sorter. (Possible Fire Hazard). 5.4. TITECH Network specification Item Requirement 1 Multi‐Wires for signals For each signal which shall be displayed in control room one wire is needed. The standard for TITECH systems delivers 2 inputs and 9 output signals. So a minimum of 11 wires are required. The remote task switch needs 5 additional wires. For more signals contact TITECH PM. 2 Network Cat 6 ‐ cable is required for: if two or more units are installed OPC (option) CCU (option) VPN connection instead of Modem (option) 3 Analog phone line for required: 2 wires unshielded modem support recommended: 2 wires shielded (option) 4 ProfiBus Cable (option) required: PSM‐CABLE‐PROFIB/FC The cable has to be laid in series from the switch room to the first sorter, from there to the next sorter and so on. Use this list to check if the installation corresponds to the TITECH specification. 8.1. Parameter Requirement Reference 1 Mono layer An object shall not be covered by another object. 2 Material shall be distributed evenly across the conveyor belt with good spread between objects. 3 Material shall not move relative to the conveyor belt. This is only important in the period from detection to separation (shoot‐ out). Table 9: Material feed 8.3. Equipment requirements The equipment interfacing the sorting system shall adhere to the following speci‐ fications before installing the TITECH equipment. 8.3.1. Acceleration conveyor Parameter Requirement Reference 1 Drum diameter 150‐250 mm. T0118 2 Speed Adjustable Frequency converter in the range of N/A 2,5–4,0 m/s. Nominal 3,0 m/s.or smaller. Separation chamber Parameter Requirement Reference 1 Design Separation chamber shall be closed from all sides except input, output and ventilation. 2 Ventilation The separation chamber shall be well ventilated T0326, pos 7 in order to prevent air pressure building up inside the chamber. Design is to be clarified with TITECH PM. 3 Access to the valve Provide at least one access to valve block T0326, pos 2 block (min 800 x 800 mm). Make sure that there is a safe stand inside the chamber. 4 Clearance Provide cutouts for the feeding of cables and air T0326, pos 3 hoses for the valve block. 5 Curtain To avoid bouncing of material. T0326, pos 6 6 Deflecting plate To guide the ejected material.
