Product Lifecycle Announcement for RealSecure® Network Sensor 6.5 – September 23, 2003
AFFECTED PRODUCTS and SERVICES RealSecure Network Sensor 6.5
SUMMARY: Effective immediately, the End-of-XPU (EOX) for the RealSecure® Network Sensor software version 6.5 has been extended through 12/31/03. Internet Security Systems (ISS) is providing customers with an extension for the RealSecure Network Sensor 6.5 EOX to facilitate adequate time for upgrades to RealSecure Network Sensor 7.0. The original EOX for RealSecure Network Sensor 6.5 was planned for October 2003. During the period up to 12/31/03, customers with current maintenance will continue to receive technical support, security content updates and programmatic corrections of code for RealSecure Network Sensor 6.5 until the effective EOX on 12/31/03. Technical support for RealSecure Network Sensor 6.5 will discontinue upon the release of the next major version of RealSecure Network Sensor past 7.0.
MIGRATION PATH: Internet Security Systems, Inc. (ISS) has developed migration documentation to migrate customers currently utilizing RealSecure Network Sensor 6.5 to the RealSecure Network Sensor 7.0 software application. There is no cost to migrate/upgrade from RealSecure Network Sensor 6.5 to RealSecure Network Sensor 7.0 for those customers current on maintenance. X-PRESS UPDATE: X-Press Update™ product enhancements for RealSecure Network Sensor 6.5 will continue through 12/31/03, at which time they will be discontinued. TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Internet Security Systems provides telephone troubleshooting and workaround assistance on our products for the current major version and the one previous, thus no change in Technical Support will be made as a result of this announcement. Please note that resolution may be that the customer will need to migrate to the RealSecure Network Sensor 7.0 software application. In addition, Development/Engineering assistance may not be available. Technical Support is available 24 hours a day through the Americas location. All other locations are open Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, during their local time, excluding ISS published holidays. Terms and Conditions Except to the extent any written agreement in effect between Customer and ISS governs Customer use of the RealSecure Network Sensor 7.0 software, by migrating to the RealSecure Network Sensor 7.0 software (if any) Customer agrees (i) its license to use the RealSecure Network Sensor 7.0 software shall be governed by ISS’ standard Master Agreement which is available at the following Website: http://documents.iss.net/master_agreement.pdf, (ii) maintenance for the RealSecure Network Sensor 7.0 software will be provided during the period (if any) for which Customer has paid the maintenance fees applicable to the RealSecure Network Sensor 6.5 software, (iii) the next maintenance renewal fee will be based upon the RealSecure Network Sensor 7.0 software license price, (iv) Customer’s use of the RealSecure Network Sensor 7.0 software shall be no broader than the number of devices expressly Internet Security Systems, Inc.
authorized in the applicable agreement, (v) Customer’s license to use the RealSecure Network Sensor 6.5 software shall automatically terminate on the earlier of its expiration or ninety (90) days after delivery of the RealSecure Network Sensor 7.0 software whereupon ISS shall have no further responsibility or liability of any kind for the RealSecure Network Sensor 6.5 software.
