Announcement of Official Plans for First-Ever National Law Enforcement Museum

President George H.W. Bush Hello. You know, I am glad to have this opportunity to tell you why I am proudly serving with President Bill Clinton as Co-Chair of the National Honorary Campaign Committee for the National Law Enforcement Museum.
On October 15th 1991, I had the privilege of dedicating the beautiful National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC. It has become one of our nation’s most important landmarks. A bold and richly deserved tribute to the brave officers and their families, who have sacrificed so much for the protection and safety of others.
On the Memorial’s Walls of Remembrance are more than 17,000 names of federal, state and local law enforcement officers who have given their lives in performance of the duty.
This Museum will be an exciting, vibrant and interactive tribute to the men and women who protect us all.
President Clinton and I hope all Americans will join us in this effort. I think it is the least we can do for those who have done so much: our nation’s law enforcement officers. Thank you.
