Jaime Nino is a Doctoral candidate at London School of Economics as well as Editor of SItrends.org. Jaime
holds an MSc. in Public Policy in International Economics from the University of Michigan as well as an MSc.
in Economics from the Universidad de los Andes. His academic interests include international trade in services,
trade reform and trade negotiations, services sector statistics, and game theory. He has taught International
Economics at Universidad de los Andes and Universidad Externado, and Economic Policy and Rational Choice
at the LSE. Jaime was Executive Director of the Coalition of Service Industries Research and Education
Foundation where he promoted academic work in services trade and services trade negotiations and assisted
the creation of the first World Services Congress in Atlanta. The Foundation also undertook a series of educational
events to disseminate services negotiation experiences with negotiators from the Western Hemisphere and
elsewhere. In this capacity, Jaime Nino advanced the creation of RedServ, a business network in the Americas
that promotes services trade liberalization and business facilitation in the Western Hemisphere.
Jaime Nino was assistant economic advisor of the President of Colombia and has done consultancy work for
the Ministry of Trade of Colombia, the InterAmerican Telecommunications Commission, and the Corporacion
Andina de Fomento, among other institutions.
