Our objective is to assemble the world’s leading researchers and

practitioners on a broad range of topics related to landfills. The ICLRS is not a traditional conference in that we emphasize extensive discussion and interaction, as opposed to formal presentations. Our goal is to serve as the premier international conference on landfill research. At this time we are pleased to invite proposals from people interested in organizing a session. Session chairs will have considerable flexibility in the development of the content of their session. Abstracts for poster presentations which will be solicited in a future announcement.
Call for Session Proposals
We are open to sessions relating to any aspect of landfills. We are

particularly interested in proposals for sessions that will not rely on a series of formal presentations, and in sessions that demonstrate a commitment on the part of the session chair to invest significant preparation time to insure a high quality session. Chairs are asked to propose a session with a well-organized structure and sufficient time for discussion to insure a high quality of the session. Poster Presentations
In keeping with the emphasis on individual interaction, there will be a poster session at the symposium. Ample time for discussion at the poster presentation will be provided. Abstracts for posters will be solicited in April.

Transportation between the Airport and the hotel will be provided. The lake is located by Mt. Usu, a famous volcanic mountain, and is surrounded by many hot-springs. The symposium will take place in Toya Sun Palace Hotel where all participants will stay. The hotel has swimming pools and different kinds of hot-spring spas, including open-air baths and saunas. Hotel reservation is included in the symposium registration and will be arranged by Hokkaido University. The university has booked rooms for participants at discount price.
