ANNOUNCEMENT: Today is Bennigan’s Day. Please consider eating at Bennigan’s
on Monday night. All proceeds will go to the class of 2011. When ordering, please
mention Rustin Class of 2011.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Picture retakes will be taken during lunches on this Friday in the
auditorium lobby. Those wishing to have their pictures taken may go to the auditorium
lobby during their regularly scheduled lunch period. A reminder, if you did not have your
picture taken before and do not have it taken on Friday, your photograph will not appear
in this year’s year book and you will not receive a Rustin Photo I.D. Picture purchase
forms are available in the main office.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Rustin Rugby Club will be selling DISCOUNTED tickets for
Arasapha Farm’s “Triple Knight of Horror” on Monday and Wednesday mornings in the
month of October. The tickets are $20 and include entry to the Haunted Hayride, the
Bates Motel and the all new Haunted Trail. Tickets may also be purchased from Ms.
McGinnis in Room A309 before or after school.

ANNOUNCEMENT: For any student who is considering attending one of our nation’s
service academies (Army, Air Force, Navy, or Coast Guard) or applying to one of the
many ROTC programs around the country, there is a great opportunity for you next
Tuesday night, October 7th. Academy Night 2008 will be held at Garden Spot High
School next Tuesday at 7pm. For specific information on this event, see Mr. Lunardi in
the Athletic Office or visit our Guidance Department.

ANNOUNCEMENT: THE FIRST MEETING OF THE FUTURE BUSINESS
LEADERS OF AMERICAN WILL BE HELD TOMORROW, TUESDAY, OCTOBER
7, DURING HOMEROOM IN THE CAFETERIA. CHECK IN WITH YOUR
HOMEROOM TEACHER AND THEN COME TO THE CAFETERIA BY 7:30 A.M.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Auditions for the girls’ speaking contest will be held on
Wednesday, October 8th at 2:30 in the auditorium. Please prepare a 1 minute oral
interpretation to perform for the judges. See Mrs. Turley in B306 if you have any
questions.

Attention Homecoming King and Queen candidates:
There will be a mandatory meeting of the candidates on Wednesday during homeroom in
room B310.

Announcement: Attention 10th and 11th graders who are interested in taking the PLAN
test…the practice test for the ACT: The PLAN test will be given on Saturday, December
13 at East High School. You may register for PLAN on Monday, October 6 through
Friday, October 10 in the Counseling Office before homeroom. The cost of the test is

       $18.50. Again, registration for PLAN will run the week of October 6 in the Counseling
       Office before homeroom. Please see your counselor for more details.

       ANNOUNCEMENT: The Annual Mock Trial competition is held in February and lasts
       for two days. Students act as lawyers and witnesses to present a case before a real judge.
       If you are an aspiring litigator or just want to get involved in the judicial system, you
       should attend an organizational meeting on Wednesday Oct. 8 at 2:45 in Room B-311. If
       you cannot attend, please pick up forms from Mr. Reyna.

       ANNOUNCEMENT: There will be a Science Olympiad Team Meeting for all members
       on Tuesday, 07 Oct after school. Team members should bring their manual and come
       prepared to talk about events and our upcoming competitions. Check your email for the
       meeting agenda. As always, it you cannot be there, see Mr. Suarez or Mr. Byrd.

       ANNOUNCEMENT: An informational meeting for the speech and debate club will be
       held on Tuesday, October 7th at 2:30 in B306. Everyone is welcome to attend. Speech
       and debate events include original speeches and published works, memorized
       performances or those read from a manuscript, and partner and individual activities, so
       there is something for everyone. Come out on Tuesday, October 7th to learn more about
       our program. See Mrs. Turley if you have any questions.

       ANNOUNCEMENT: There is a mandatory meeting for all students interested in
       swimming or diving this winter after school in room A304 on Monday, October 6th.
       Important information will be given out, so all athletes are required to attend.

   The following colleges will be visiting our school this week of October 6th are:
      Monday, Oct 6 – Lehigh University
      Tuesday, Oct 7–Castleton State College, Arcardia University
      Wednesday, Oct 8 – Johnson & Wales
      Thursday, Oct 9 – No School
      Friday, Oct 10– University of Rochester

If you would like to attend the visit, you must sign up in the guidance office but you may not
