The University of Central Florida, College of Medicine is seeking an individual to serve as Web Designer. Applicants
are required to possess a bachelor's degree and one year of information technology experience. A bachelor's degree in
Computer Science, Managements Information Systems, Communications, Multimedia and Graphics Design, or other
discipline related to the primary in addition to two to four years of experience in web development and design are
preferred. Chosen individual must be able to work on a team that is highly detail orientated and exhibits creativity in
problem solving.
The successful candidates’ primary responsibilities will include the ability to design, produce, and maintain various
College of Medicine websites, including multimedia and graphics, and contribute to communications strategy and
special projects; perform maintenance and updates to existing websites as needed; create and implement visual
concepts, graphics, and multimedia that match the content and fit the overall website design and colleges’ image;
design and produce Flash animations; design and program web applications based on multiple web platforms; assist in
design and implementation of the web content management system; assist faculty and staff with web, graphics, and
multimedia design needs; contribute to the overall development of the Web Services group, Department of Planning
& Knowledge Management and the college overall. This position directly reports to the Webmaster (Director of Web
Applicants are preferred to have experience with Flash, Adobe Flex, and SilverLight development; advanced
knowledge of XHTML and CSS, including browser compatibility issues; experience in producing table-less, standards-
compliant web sites; knowledge of Javascript and DOM scripting; familiarity with .NET (C# and VB), AJAX,
PHP/Perl programming and environments; experience with digital imaging and illustration using Adobe Photoshop,
Illustrator, and FireWorks; experience with video processing and conversion for web; knowledge of current web
design and web programming trends and techniques; familiarity with information architecture, usability, and
accessibility concepts. Experience working within a medical or university settings is highly desirable.
