WWF, the global conservation organization leading international efforts for a living planet,
seeks applications from qualified Nepali citizens for the following full time positions.
1. Conservation Education and Advocacy Officer
Minimum qualification required is a Bachelors Degree in a related discipline and at least five
years experience working in conservation education and advocacy. The major responsibilities
include strengthening the education program, enhancing existing eco-club networks,
partnership development for conservation advocacy with local community forest users,
stakeholders and other like minded organizations, documenting best practices, supporting
program development and fundraising for conservation education activities and support in
developing an education strategy for WWF Nepal as well as education materials.
The candidate should be a motivated individual with excellent communication skills and
willing to travel frequently to the mountain and terai areas. Should be able to development
conservation education programs and should possess an enthusiasm for conservation. Excellent
computer skills are required.
2. Media Relations Officer
Minimum qualifications required are a Bachelors Degree in a related discipline and at least five
years experience (with extensive background in pitching stories to the media) in media
relations, journalism, or broadcast is required. Good knowledge of working press and
familiarity with new media is desirable. The major responsibilities include executing media
strategies, building media partnerships, organizing media trips, designing and executing
campaigns, disseminating success stories, networking with internal and external partners and
support in fundraising. Acting as a second level spokesperson for WWF, responsibilities also
includes coordinating press conferences, institutional statements and scripting of special
interviews and press statements and other materials to support media coverage.
Candidate should be an excellent communicator with superior language skills both in English
and Nepali. He/she should have the ability to create and implement media plans on tight
deadlines and must possess an enthusiasm for conservation. Excellent computer skills are
