Dear FLS2006 Participant,

This is the third announcement for the ICFA workshop on Future Light Sources. It provides you
with necessary local information. The detailed workshop program will be distributed during
registration. It can also be found, together with additional information, at http://fls2006.desy.de/.

We wish you a save journey and welcome you to an exciting workshop here at DESY.

Registration
Registration is possible on Sunday, May 14th, 17:00-19:00 and Monday, May 15th, 09:00-18:00 at
the registration desk in front of the DESY auditorium.

Public Transport
A 5 day ticket for use of all public transport is included in the conference fee and will be issued
upon registration.

Welcome Reception
We invite participants arriving on Sunday to a welcome reception at the DESY Bistro starting at
18:00, Sunday, May 14th. We are looking forward to meet you there.

DESY Tour
A tour of DESY is offered on Monday, May 15th from 10:00-12:00. The meeting point for the tour
is in the Auditorium.

Working Groups
Working groups take place on Tuesday, May 16th and Thursday, May 18th. The detailed working

Poster Session
There will be a poster session to present new synchrotron radiation source projects in the planning
or construction phase, as well as upgrade plans for existing facilities. Posters will be on display for
the whole week and should be attended during two time slots on Tuesday, May 16th and Thursday
May 18th , 13:30-14:00 (see program) to allow for questions and discussions.
A poster can have a maximum size of 841 mm x 1189 mm (33.1 in x 46.8 in, Din A0). Because of
space limitations only one poster per project can be presented.

Publications
The workshop presentations will be published within the JACOW (www.jacow.org) system. For
proper publication a minimum of additional information is required: title, author, affiliation and a
short abstract. Those who have not uploaded an abstract before the conference will be asked to do
so during the meeting. The scientific secretaries will assist you. Presentations should be either
uploaded prior to the workshop or handed to the scientific secretary before presentation.
PowerPoint, Word, PDF or PS format will be accepted and converted into PDF format for
publication.

Accompanying papers of plenary talks will have no page limit. Working group presentations
can be accompanied with a three page paper. They should be uploaded by 19 May 2006 (the
deadline for short term contributions is 1 July 2006). Papers should be in accordance to JACOW
formatting rules as defined on the web-page.

How to get to the DESY Main Entrance

Arriving by train at Hamburg Altona station
• Continue by taxi, travelling time ca. 15-20 min.
• Or continue by bus line 1 (direction Schenefelder Holt, S Blankenese, Sieversstücken, S Rissen)
  directly to the main entrance of DESY (bus stop Zum Hünengrab/DESY), travelling time ca. 25
  min.
• Or continue by S-Bahn (local subway) line S1 or S11 (direction Blankenese/Wedel) to
  Othmarschen. Then either go on with bus line 1 (direction Schenefelder Holt, S Blankenese,
  Sieversstücken, S Rissen). The bus stop is on the opposite side of the road to the subway station.
  Or go on by foot: leave the subway station at the Waitzstrasse exit, turn right at the bottom of the
  stairs, turn left onto Waitzstrasse, right onto Gross Flottbeker Strasse and follow that road
  directly to DESY, walking time ca. 25 min.

Arriving by plane at Hamburg airport Fuhlsbüttel
• Continue by taxi, travelling time ca. 40-50 min.
• Or continue by bus line 110 Airport Express to the S-Bahn (local subway) station Ohlsdorf, then
  with subway line S1 or S11 (direction Blankenese/Wedel) to Othmarschen station. Then go on
  with bus line 1 (direction Schenefelder Holt, S Blankenese, Sieversstücken, S Rissen) to the
  main entrance of DESY (bus stop Zum Hünengrab/DESY).

By car
Exit the Autobahn (A7) at HH-Bahrenfeld. Arriving in Hamburg from the South: turn left onto the
main road (Osdorfer Landstraße). Arriving in Hamburg from the North: turn right onto the main
road (Osdorfer Landstraße). Then turn right onto Notkestraße. The main entrance of DESY is the
second road on the left.

DESY side entrance
The side entrance of DESY is located on the Luruper Chaussee. The bus line 2 stops there (bus stop
DESY). The side entrance is open for motorists from Monday till Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and
closed on weekends. It is open for pedestrians and cyclists at all times.
