					                                               We’re taking it ‘on the road’ – Again!

                                                  Invitation to Participate
                                                Southeast Regional Meeting
                                                             May 10, 2007
                                                         8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
                                                        Charlotte, No. Carolina

The National Hydropower Association is pleased to be hosting its 2007 Southeast Regional Meeting in
Charlotte on Thursday, May 10 , with an optional breakfast meeting and recreational experience at the
U.S. National Whitewater Center on May 11 . Both events are open to owners and operators of hydro
projects, and to service and equipment providers. Come discuss current hot topics affecting the hydro
industry and share experiences.
Registration and an opportunity for networking will start at 8:30 a.m. on May 10 , with the program
starting promptly at 9:30 a.m. In the morning a roundtable will address experiences with FERC’s
Integrated Licensing Process, including particularly working with the resource agencies and NGOs. A
second roundtable discussion in the morning will focus on selected compliance and O&M issues,
including in particular DO mitigation, ESA issues and PTCs/CREBs. After lunch, a third roundtable will
address dam safety issues, with a focus on EAPs/first responders, surveillance plans, monitoring and
dam safety, and security. Dan Mahoney, Acting Director of FERC’s Division of Dam Safety and
Inspections in Washington, D.C., will be the featured speaker. In addition, in the afternoon NHA’s
Executive Director will discuss NHA’s 2007 planned activities and initiatives with an update on legislative
and regulatory matters (including RGGI/RPS issues and new technologies). The Meeting on May 10 will
end at approximately 3:00 p.m. The optional breakfast meeting on May 11 will focus on recreation
issues, beginning at 8:30 a.m., with the whitewater rafting following from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
NHA especially thanks its member Duke Energy for hosting the May 10 Meeting at its Paul M. Anderson
Auditorium, and NHA members Devine Tarbell & Associates, Santee Cooper, Southern Company
Generation–Hydro Services, SCE&G, and Andritz VA Tech Hydro for providing co-sponsorship. There is

no fee for the Regional Meeting on May 10 or the breakfast session on May 11 ; however, prior
registration is necessary. Reserve your spot by contacting Diane Lear at diane@hydro.org, or by
completing the form below and faxing it to 202-682-9478. Space may be limited – so sign up early!!
There is a charge for the optional whitewater experience on May 11 of $35. Please also register for this
event through Diane Lear and contact her to arrange for credit card payment.
