ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE (VIOLIST WITH THE FINE ARTS QUARTET)

POSITION TITLE: Artist-in-Residence
WORKING TITLE: Violist with the Fine Arts Quartet
POSITION TYPE: Non-Teaching Academic Staff -- full-time (100%), probationary appointment.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Fine Arts Quartet, which is in residence at the University of Wisconsin-
Milwaukee, is seeking an experienced concert violist. Responsibilities will
include rehearsing; concerts; recordings for CD's, radio, and television;
international touring; master classes in viola and chamber music; coaching
student chamber music ensembles; and participation in Quartet business.
Founded in Chicago in 1946, the Fine Arts Quartet is one of the most
distinguished ensembles in chamber music today with an illustrious history of
performing success and an extensive recording legacy. It is one of the elite few
to have recorded and toured internationally for over half a century.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications – candidate must be an experienced concert violist of
the highest artistic caliber with a national reputation. Additional preferred
qualifications – international reputation, chamber music performance and
recording experience, and master class teaching experience.
SALARY: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Annual 12-month pay basis. Full benefits.
