Microsoft Corp. has announced the following winners and finalists of the 2009 Microsoft Partner
of the Year Awards. The awards honor Microsoft Registered, Certified and Gold Certified
partners that delivered exemplary solutions for their customers during the past year. Award
winners and finalists were chosen from nominations from around the world. Winners and
finalists will be recognized at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2009, the company’s
premier annual event for industry partners, being held July 13–16 in New Orleans.

Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Active Directory Partner of the Year

           Winner: Quest Software, United States
           Finalist: Centrify, United States
           Finalist: Likewise Software, United States

The Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Active Directory Partner of the Year Award honors the
partner that has practices with proven proficiency in implementing solutions based on Windows
Active Directory Domain Services. This award also recognizes a partner with innovative
solutions for Active Directory Domain Services in a heterogeneous environment, or solutions
that provide value-added security and compliance capabilities for Active Directory Domain
Services. A partner earning this award has provided a comprehensive, end-to-end solution that
optimizes or extends the power of Active Directory Domain Services.

Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Storage Solutions Partner of the Year

           Winner: NetApp, United States
           Finalist: CommVault, United States
           Finalist: Compellent, United States

The Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Storage Solutions Partner of the Year Award honors a
partner that has storage infrastructure practices in designing and/or implementing various storage
solutions to solve customers’ issues with data growth in their Windows environments. Customers
are looking to Microsoft technologies to meet the growing demands on their storage
infrastructure coming from compliance requirements and massive year-over-year data growth.
The winning partner has developed and deployed cost-effective storage solutions that utilized
Windows Server 2008 storage technologies or Windows Storage Server in customer
environments.


Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Systems Management Partner of the Year
           Winner: CDW, United States
           Finalist: Dimension Data, Australia
           Finalist: Accenture and Avanade, United States

The Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Systems Management Partner of the Year Award honors
a partner that has infrastructure practices with proven proficiency in implementing solutions
based on one or more of the following products:
           System Center Configuration Manager 2007
           System Center Data Protection Manager 2007
           System Center Essentials 2007
           System Center Operations Manager 2007
           Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2007 or 2008

This award also recognizes a partner with innovative solutions that use the Infrastructure
Optimization Model to advance customers’ IT infrastructures by using Microsoft systems
management products.

Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Windows Desktop Deployment Partner of the Year

The Advanced Infrastructure Solutions, Windows Desktop Deployment Partner of the Year
Award recognizes a partner with proven expertise in helping customers migrate to a Windows
Vista Optimized Desktop. This award recognizes a partner that has successfully deployed
Microsoft technologies with Windows Vista, Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack and System
Center to help customers more efficiently and cost-effectively manage their desktop assets,
support their users, manage security and deploy new applications.

Business Intelligence Partner of the Year

The Business Intelligence Partner of the Year Award recognizes a partner that provides scalable,
reliable and available data solutions that help customers make better, faster and more relevant

enables organizations to monitor, analyze and improve business performance with Microsoft
Office PerformancePoint Server.

Citizenship Partner of the Year

The Citizenship Partner of the Year Award recognizes an exceptional partner that has made a
sustained commitment to society and its community, and can demonstrate the results of its work.
The winning partner has worked with a nonprofit entity in an innovative way to empower
underserved communities by giving access to technology or technology skills training, and has
made a unique and positive impact in making the knowledge economy more accessible.

Communications Sector Partner of the Year

          Winner: Comcast, United States

The Communications Sector Partner of the Year Award is given to a communications sector
partner that has added business value to customers by deploying new and innovative solutions
based on Microsoft technologies in hosting, media and entertainment, or telecommunications
industries. The award recognizes a partner whose solution has targeted a customer’s business or
technical challenge either by identifying a new opportunity or by using technology innovation to
address the need.

Custom Development Solutions, Application Infrastructure Development Partner of the
Year

Digital Agencies Partner of the Year

The Digital Agencies Partner of the Year Award is granted to the digital agency partner that has
demonstrated stellar partnership efforts in delivering the most innovative design and revenue-
generating experiences to collective customers during the past year. This ―first of its kind award‖
from Microsoft for an agency acknowledges Microsoft’s commitment to the significant value
and importance that digital agencies have on influencing Microsoft-based solutions in the
burgeoning experiences across multiple screens for consumers.


Distribution Partner of the Year

           Winner: Workgroup, South Africa

The Distribution Partner of the Year Award honors the partner that has demonstrated the highest
level of excellence in the areas of innovation, engagement and execution. Innovation is
demonstrated by the distributor that has taken the most creative and effective approach to new or
existing business opportunities. Excellence in engagement has been demonstrated by specific
examples of partnering with Microsoft at the executive and business-development levels.
Execution excellence has been demonstrated by effectively reaching resellers and providing a
high level of customer satisfaction while delivering strong business results.

Enterprise Partner of the Year

The Microsoft Enterprise Partner of the Year Award is given to the global services or technology
partner that has demonstrated enterprise leadership excellence. This award winner has been the

customers in the past year. The input for this award is provided by the Microsoft worldwide field
global partner regional leaders, the enterprise and partner group leaders, and the Microsoft
Corporate team.


Global ISV Consumer Partner of the Year

The Global ISV Consumer Partner of the Year Award is given to the global ISV partner that has

can trust to deliver. The IAMCP Partner of the Year Award honors a Microsoft partner that has
demonstrated its understanding in partner-to-partner business networking for the Microsoft
ecosystem. The winner of this award has created a solution that demonstrates innovative use of

developed an innovative, new approach to solving a new or existing business or consumer need
using Microsoft’s latest server or client technologies. The winning partner has demonstrated
leadership in the areas of innovation, market potential, media and analyst buzz, investor value
creation, and customer adoption with at least three active business customers or 1,000
consumers.

ISV/Software Solutions Partner of the Year
          Winner: KnowledgeLake, United States
          Finalist: AccTech Systems, South Africa

The ISV/Software Solutions Partner of the Year Award recognizes the ISV competency partner
that excels at developing and delivering packaged software to customers. The winning partner’s
software solution works together with one or more of Microsoft’s latest server-based platform
and middleware products, including SQL Server 2005, Windows Server 2003, BizTalk Server
2006, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Microsoft Business Solutions (all products and
versions) and Exchange Server 2007. This partner’s solution also is built using the Microsoft
.NET development framework and tools including Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008. A
