                        Hardware Experience, Good communication skills
Skills
                    • Computer Skills: VHDL, C/C++ programming, Assembly, Perl, MPI, Xilinx, Tornado II,
ALTERA MAX+PLUS, Minitab, EWB, MATLAB, and MAPLE. Windows, Linux, and
                        Unix operating systems.

Projects • Designed and implemented a circuit to decode a sequence of DTMF audio pulses
acquired through common audio sources to turn DTMFCS switching element on
and off. The project included circuit simulation with Xilinx Foundation Series CAD
software and FPGA chipset. We experimented with both VHDL-based FPGA im-
plementation, and implementation with standard wire wrap techniques.
                    • Implemented a hexadecimal calculator that reads a value from the 16-key keypad,
calculates the result, and then displays its value to LCD display. The program is
interfaced directly with the 68230 PIA/T chips on the Educational Trainer, and
handled keyboard debounce in software. The same program was also imple-
                        mented on the MSP430F149 micro-controller.
                    • Designed a circuit with VHDL to decode a 16-key scanning keypad and to display
the hexadecimal symbol associated with each key along with the binary value as-
sociated with the pervious key that was pressed on two seven-segment LEDs.
                    • Designed and implemented a graphical real-time Tetris Game using C program-
ming language that worked with the DJGPP compiler and Allegro graphics library,
incorporating an external controller device (e.g. a mouse).
                    • Implemented a simple Messenger (chat-type) program on Linux. The software es-
                        tablished client/server communication through Sockets.
                    • Implemented a C program on Tornado II that compared the performance of the Win-
dows NT simulator for VxWorks against a program running on the real target hardware
                        and estimated the performance.
