ANNEX B: Enhancements to BE in Singapore Scheme (BEIS) The BE in Singapore Scheme (BEIS) scheme supports the creation, anchoring and growth of business and MICE events in Singapore. BEIS is an instrumental incentive tool that helps to build our pipeline of business and MICE events and strengthen Singapore’s reputation as a preferred top-of-mind business and MICE destination. Enhancements To ensure that secured business and MICE events occurring within the next two years can be realised, STB will be increasing its funding support for these events under BEIS. New BEIS applications received from 1 March 2009 to 28 February 2010 will also qualify for enhanced support. In addition to the enhanced support to defray the cost of events, the scope of BEiS has been expanded to incentivise the following: (1) Maintain calendar of events and content enhancement to ensure competitiveness of event (2) Overseas marketing of smaller events through a Special Assistance Scheme for Value Events (SAVE) (3) Building of business event pipeline through supporting MICE players’ overseas business development efforts under the ambit of Alliance Development Scheme; and a more aggressive funding support for bidding of strategic events.
