AFTER SUSTAINED campaigning for the long-overdue
development of thermal treatment facilities for
Dublin, the Chamber welcomed the appointment of
Elsam Ireland to design, build, operate and finance
the incinerator at Poolbeg.
Thermal treatment is an important part of the mix of facilities
that will deal with the Dublin region's waste in the future, as our
dependence on landfill is tackled. It will be vital in tackling
Dublin's rising waste disposal costs.
Poolbeg has been chosen as the site for the region's thermal
treatment plant for municipal waste. The statutory consultation Clive Brownlee, Dublin Convention Bureau; EU Commissioner
