When an application is started or moved to another node together with its associated resource group, the service IP address can be configured in two ways: By replacing the base (boot-time) IP address of a communication interface method, known as IP address takeover (IPAT), via IP replacement. By configuring one communication interface with an additional IP address on top of the existing method, known as IP address takeover, via IP aliasing.
The default IPAT method in HACMP 5.1 is via aliasing (IPAT via aliasing). To change this default behavior, the network properties must be changed using HACMP extended configuration menus.
