Viral web application brings new customers to photo retailers
SEQUOIA MEDIA GROUP PREMIERES THE AVINCI MINI MOVIE
SALT LAKE CITY, UT– March 6, 2007 - Sequoia Media Group, LC (Sequoia), developer of the aVinci® Experience, announced that the company will release its aVinci Mini Movie at PMA 07 in Las Vegas. aVinci’s new viral photo-sharing application introduces consumers to free, occasion-based Mini Movie productions that extend the reach of photo retailers and photo sharing websites to new customers and new markets. “We have had an overwhelming response within the first two months of product testing,” said Terry Dickson, V.P. Marketing and Development at Sequoia. “The website has received many more hits than we anticipated. The response has exceeded all of our expectations - tens of thousands of Mini Movies have been created and shared.” The free web-based application allows consumers to create short, streaming video productions using their personal digital photos. Consumers choose from six occasionbased templates, insert six images of their choice, and title their movie. Productions are accessed through a free, private website where up to six Mini Movies are stored for 30 days from the date of creation at no charge. aVinci Mini Movies are partner branded and are offered via partner photo product websites. The basic Mini Movie application can be upgraded to a fee-based membership club that provides additional services such as unlimited Mini Movie and poster creation, the capability to download Mini Movies for use on mobile or handheld devices, and the ability to print movie posters. Mini Movie customers are more likely to become interested in other “occasion-based” photo applications, such as full-sized web streaming, DVD movies, and bundles containing movies, themed books, and movie posters.
