Doug Doppler Educational Bio by sofiaie

									                          Doug Doppler Clinic Bio
Favored Nations recording artist Doug Doppler shares one other thing in
common with the boss of his label (Steve Vai) - they both studied under Joe
Satriani. After spending 3 1/2 years under Satch's tutelage, Doug attended and
graduated from GIT in Los Angeles. Upon Doug's return to the San Francisco Bay
Area, Joe asked him to take over his Berkeley, CA teaching studio where Doug
still teaches.
An avid music educator for 20 plus years, Doug continues to share his wealth of
information about playing, recording, touring, and studying with individual
students and to groups. Doug's clinics and workshops cross international borders
and mirror the impact of his recording career as well as the success of his
Guitar 411 DVD series. The first Guitar 411 title "Diatonic Theory and Harmony"
provides guitarists of all levels a resource for not only learning the most
commonly used chords and scales, but how to understand and apply them as
well. This DVD also allows Doug to pass the torch of his musical heritage on to
the next generation, just as Satriani did for him. This approach of how to learn,
play and apply music and theory is key to mastering not only the guitar, but
musicianship as well, and passing this along is one of Doug's greatest passions.
In addition to having toured Europe opening for supporting his Favored Nations
release - opening for Gilby Clarke of Rockstar Supernova and G n' R fame, Doug
has played on numerous bills in support of the likes of Steve Morse, Tony
MacAlpine, Vinnie Moore, Dokken, and Gary Hoey. In addition to playing on a
local 2004 G3 show, Doug was also invited by his mentor to play at the Bill
Graham Memorial in San Francisco in front of 250,000 people. Additionally,
Doug has done clinics and NAMM show product demonstrations for Mogar Music
in Milan (Italy's Ibanez distributor), Schon Guitars, M-Audio, ENGL Amps, and
Doug enjoys meeting people and impacting there lives with his positive,
straight-forward outlook and insights into the world of music. Whammy Bar
Mojo, the next Guitar 411 title will be released in February 2007. Diatonic
Theory and Harmony is distributed across Europe by Carisch and is available
