I am currently changing the way I manage my monthly newsletter. I'm switching it to a YahooGroup. I tried to send you an invitation, but it bounced back. If you would like to join and keep receiving my monthly Full Moon Reports, please go to www.yahoogroups.com and search for "turning wheel astrology." That will take you to my group site. Then fill out a few questions and you will get a confirmation from me that your membership is active. Be sure to click the button to hide your email address if you would like to remain anonymous. No one else can send messages via the group. It should be pretty easy and will ensure you receive the newsletter once a month. I hope you decide to join. Here's the last Full Moon Report in case you missed it. May you be well and happy.

to the stars, through difficulty
Monthly Astrology Reports by Rhea Wolf March 2008 Vernal Equinox Spring is all around us. Caught up in the spirit of such abundance, the little black slug on the over-wintering greens in our garden voraciously munches away. But as my husband cleans the leafy bounty for our dinner, he washes the slug down the drain. (Gardeners have no mercy for slugs.) Little black slug meets death in spring. We are awash in awakening life at this time of year, but death is all around us too. Not to be a drag, darlings, but death makes this popping of buds possible. I’m in the heart of the springtime, exuberant sunshine-joy exploding my cells in delight and hope, and I’m thinking about death and meaninglessness. The reason is the Full Moon and it’s call for balancing of self and others. The Vernal Equinox is a balance point, when the wheel turns from darkness to light but both are held in equal stead. It marks the new year, the beginning of life (again). Right on its heels is all the previous season’s dying that feeds the inspiration. I can’t help it. Springtime is all blood and blooms for me. To quote those beloved 80’s rockers Ratt, “Round and round. With love we’ll find a way, just give it time. Round and round. What comes around goes around. I’ll tell you why. ” But then he doesn’t really ever tell us why. I think he meant to do that. You see, the Wheel of Life turns, deaf to your personal desires and fickle in its affections. You see this and think, “Ah well, it is all chaos and meaninglessness. So I guess I’ll just look out for myself, simultaneously destroying everything and everyone with my crabby cynicism and nihilist philosophy.” But look at the Wheel again and consider a different line: “Well, things change in a heartbeat and there’s no guarantee in life. So I guess we should try to stick together and work with each other so that we at least have some love flowing through our days. At least we’ll have poetry. At least we’ll have music and big delicious dinners with lots of wine and laughter.”
The messages of Now are singing out the virtues of conservation, simplifying and reconnecting with What Really Matters. Here’s a taste of it from the Vernal Equinox chart: leadership that’s creative and truly compassionate; business practices that actually make sense and are accountable to the people; new definitions of wealth. On the national scale, I also see that change is the only certainty this year. There’s a hidden energy lurking backstage that I don’t much care for, some underhanded shenanigans. So let’s mind the details and not get too buoyed by optimism (nor too blinded by cynicism) that we miss the iceberg just ahead. Full Moon in Libra Mars and Pluto are involved in a Grand Cardinal Cross with the Sun and Full Moon in Libra on March 21st. That means that these four heavenly bodies (Mars, Pluto, Sun, Moon) are in the four cardinal signs of the Zodiac (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), making a big cross. Cardinal in Latin means “hinges of the door.” With this Full Moon, we want to focus on beginnings, on the kernel or core of the new energy we are initiating into being. This is the individual creative spark (Aries) that eventually forms lasting social structures (Capricorn). But it’s not simply a matter of A to B. We have to traverse through the realm of emotional integrity (Cancer) and master the skills of reconciliation (Libra). Remembering the original meaning of the word cardinal, take a moment to imagine a door. A door allows energy to pass through it. It opens and closes. It moves because of its hinges. Given this, we might want to consider the following questions, perched as we are on such a threshold: What holds you together - the vital stuff that is uniquely and powerfully you? If we are indeed going through a powerful gateway, what are you ready to leave behind? What are you taking with you through the door? Or think about it this way: On the other side of the door, you are free from insecurity and have everything you need in order to do your work in this life. What do you see there? Carefully consider this question, because we want to be as light and flexible as possible. If we move through this doorway with too much stuff, it can weigh us down and keep us from reaching the heights of our personal and collective potential. This is true of emotional baggage as well as the physical objects that clutter our lives. What are the activities that allow energy to move more freely through your life? Each of the elements can help us figure out what works for us. Fire activates our creative selves; it inspires, it leads, it leaps into action. We might need a weekly dance class or a yearly wilderness survival skills retreat. Water activities could include energy healing, therapy, playing music or just soaking in the tub. Air invites us to write and study, to socialize and share ideas or experiences with others, to breathe deeply to clear our minds. With our Earth allies, we find what nourishes us. Maybe we need to spend time in the garden, or give and receive massage. In Earth, we care for our bodies and attend to personal boundaries.
The completely appropriate, though somewhat obscure Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is The transmutation of the fruits of past experiences into the seed-realizations of the forever creative spirit. Who you were in the past is the compost that creates who you are becoming. It is all there in your Highest Self, who whispers to you in dreams and omens the golden truth of how freakin’ cool and powerful you really are, and just how much you mean to the world. Where is 1 degree Libra in your chart? Look to that house for some hidden gold. New Moon in Aries For this New Moon, at 16 degrees Aries on the 5th of April, I give you a wee smorgasbord of thoughts and questions for your homework delight: Are you taking care of your body? How about the larger body of Gaia? The details contain salvation. Get out and move already! Look to your finances and plant seeds of mindfulness in how you spend your money. Focus on ways to reduce consumption, and to generate creative sources of income. (INCOME n. the energy that comes in to your life.) The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is Two dignified spinsters sitting in silence. I would like to encourage you to activate the inner-spinster on the New Moon. A spinster is a woman who withstood the pressures of society and discovered her own path. With few options for women outside of the married or religious life, our historical sisters had to become renegades – falling in love with each other, choosing to write, choosing to agitate instead of procreate. Let us find the place in ourselves that chooses such freedom over safety. Let us also see how this part of us is silenced by the larger community and work to give it a voice. Silence is golden and can symbolize an inward search for the divine. But sometimes we need to start talking or risk falling into obscurity. Okay, but how does all this really affect me personally?
