The show is fast approaching! Here are a few things to know before we go to the theatre. The Inlet Theatre is located at 100 Newport Drive in Port Moody (within the City Hall). Please enter the theatre quietly and wait for instruction. Once the show has opened, you will be required to enter through the stage door, located off the underground parking. Students will be required to sign in when they arrive at the theatre. TECHNICAL TIMES AT THE THEATRE (All actors are required for the following times) Tuesday, April 22, 4:30 – 8:30pm (Technical Rehearsal with Actors) Wednesday, April 23, 4:30 – 8:30pm (Dress Rehearsal) SHOW DATES AND TIMES Thursday, April 24 - 9:30am & 1pm Friday, April 25 - 9:30am, 1pm & 7:30pm Saturday, April 26 - 7:30pm Sunday, April 27 - 2pm Actors are required to be at the theatre 1 hour before show time. Please pack a bottle of water with your name on it. Also, please bring non-greasy and non-sticky snacks. Actors will have a one hour break between school shows. Students are not allowed to leave the theatre unless they have written consent from a parent or guardian. COSTUME REQUIREMENTS Most actors are required to wear their own clothes at the beginning of the show (Pre- Wonderland). The characters are in the park on a spring day, so dress accordingly. Lobsters/Cards – Please wear black shoes & socks when you are in your Wonderland costumes. The following characters will be supplied with some costumes for the top of the show. Please note what you are required to supply. Medium Alice (Please wear black jazz shoes or I have black ballet slippers for you) Small Alice (Please wear regular clothes at the top of show) Do you have black ballet slippers or jazz shoes for when you are Alice?) Tall Alice (Please wear regular clothes at the top of show) Do you have black ballet slippers or jazz shoes for when you are Alice?) Cheshire Cats (Please wear black jazz shoes) The Flowers (Please wear white canvas runners, these are available at Walmart, Zellers and The Superstore for a very reasonable price). White Rabbit (You will be supplied with an orange top. Please bring bottoms to wear at the beginning of the show. Do you have any funky high top runners or converse? ). March Hare (You will be supplied with a white top, please bring bottoms to wear at the beginning of the show. You can wear runners.) Mad Hatter (You will be supplied with a top, please bring bottoms to wear at the beginning of the show. You can wear funky runners.) Caterpillar (Please wear Capri jeans and flats at the top of show. I will supply you with a top. Bring beige character shoes for the caterpillar). Queen (Please wear all black at the top of the show. You need to look like a bully, so make sure the clothes are a little bit funky). King (Please wear black jazz shoes) HAIR AND MAKEUP Girls (standard makeup) Pink blush, lipstick and mascara. Alices – also bring brown eyeliner and shadow. Queen – also bring black eyeliner, red lipstick, and dark eye shadow. Boys do not require makeup for this show. The studio will supply extra makeup for the Caterpillar, White Rabbit, March Hare, Dodo Bird and Cheshire Cats. PERSONAL HYGIENE Ok…here it is… the uncomfortable topic of hygiene! Please be considerate to your fellow actors and stage crew by bathing every day and wearing deodorant. You will be perspiring during the show and we will not have the opportunity to wash your costumes during the run. The Inlet Theatre’s backstage is very small, so it is important to keep your body fresh at all times! TICKETS Tickets are now on sale. Please see Sheila at the front desk. Prices are $16/Adults, $12/Seniors & Students. Payment options: cash, cheque, credit card or debit. VOLUNTEERS We will be requiring parent volunteers for the dress rehearsal and shows. If you are able to help out in the green room or backstage, please let Sheila know at the front desk. Greenroom volunteers help with makeup and hair, costume changes and of course keeping the green room quiet! Backstage volunteers help with set changes, props and quick changes. STRIKE We will also be needing help to strike the set and pack up on the final show on Sunday, April 27th. If you are able to stick around after the show, the help would be very much appreciated! Please let Sheila know if you can help out. VIDEOTAPING Videotaping is not permitted during the show. There will be a professional DVD for sale before the school year is out. New View Studios has produced the DVD’s for all of our shows. The video is a very high quality and each DVD includes backstage footage and professional photos of the show. You will receive more info about the DVD in the weeks to come. REGULAR CLASSES There will be no Junior class on Monday, April 28 (this will be recovery time after a long week for all!). We will be having a class party on Wednesday, April 30 to celebrate a job well done! The studio will supply drinks and snacks for the class. Regular classes will resume on Monday, May 5th. The class will be learning a song and dance number to be performed at the studio’s year end show on June 20 & 21. Please let us know if you have any questions.
