Tuesday, October 14 Chapter Event: Amgen’s Disaster Simulation Exercises – One Company’s Approach This presentation will look at how Amgen's Corporate Business Continuity and Crisis Management Team conducts full-scale disaster simulation exercises at an average of six global locations annually. They will discuss their exercise design, production and facilitation process, including the 12-page evaluation document that captures information and provides feedback to the team. Matt is responsible for ensuring the development, maintenance and exercise of business continuity plans for Amgen facilities worldwide. He has over 13 years of business continuity experience, serving as a consultant for many companies, including Nestle, USA and American Express, and as a staff member for Amgen. He has been a member of the Los Angeles chapter of the Association of Contingency Planners (ACP) for eight years and has served on its Board of Directors. Doreen Lopez, CBCP is Amgen’s Global Disaster Recovery Planning Specialist. She is a Certified Business Continuity Professional and a Project Management Professional. Doreen serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles chapter of ACP. She has over ten years of business continuity and disaster recovery experience. Doreen leads and facilitates Amgen’s global Information Systems (IS) organization in its efforts to develop and implement business continuity strategies, ISBC/disaster recovery plans and exercises, and IS damage assessment team training. Chris Wright is the Senior Manager of Corporate Crisis Management for Amgen. Chris is responsible for emergency response as well as disaster and crisis management planning for worldwide Amgen sites. He has been an emergency management professional for more than 20 years, working at First Interstate Bancard, Gibraltar Savings and Warner Bros. Studios. Chris is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Business and Industry Council for Emergency Planning and Preparedness for 14 years and is a past president of the Los Angeles chapter of ACP. Chris has served on the Board of Directors of ACP International. 2.
