be a family member, youth leader or teacher.

Log onto www.westyorkshire.police.uk/i10 and download the registration form and
parental consent form.

Step 4 –

project and can give you more judging points.

Step 6 –
Once you have completed your project get all your documentation together including
photographs, posters, DVDs etc and send them to us! All projects must be completed
and sent to us by October 1st 2010.

                           Planning Your Project

Here is an idea for when you are planning what to do in your project. You do not have
to use it, but we find this boring tool very helpful. It makes you think what needs to
be done and by when. We find the best bit is ticking the action complete as we go
along, will you?

Include meetings, discussing project, research, buying things, doing the project,
presentation, sending the project back and anything else you can think of

What is the activity or Who is going to When is the action Tick when
action? do it? going to be done? complete

                                                                                         4
                                           Diary Sheet
                                                   Date ……/……./2010
                                            Team Name ……………………………………

What did the team do? Include:-
Discuss - things like planning, how to achieve an action
Research – did you look on the internet, ask the community questions?
Action – went out and did something like bought supplies

Who was involved? How did you achieve the above, who did them, was it easy/hard etc

What have you achieved? What was the result?

                                  Presentation

              What should your project include?

So you‟ve just come back from a day‟s i10 activity or have you just finished your project.
Whilst you‟ve had a blast doing the fun stuff the time has come to write up the project - I
can hear what you‟re thinking, where do you start? What do you put? It‟s boring!! Here are a
few helpful hints and tips about what to do. We want to know about your project and this is
what we will score you on. You don‟t need to stick completely to our list, it‟s simply there as
a starting point, how you fill the gaps is up to you!

Project Initiation - Try to think of this part in terms of the 5 magic words

 Who – Who are you? How have you come together as a group? Who came up with
your idea for i10, you or the police, a teacher or a parent for example?
 What – What‟s your idea? What do you aim to achieve?
 Why – Why have you chosen to undertake this particular project? Have you, for
example, done some research into your local area?
 When – When are going to carry out the project?
 How – How are you going to achieve your ultimate goal?

Basically this section needs to tell us a bit of background about the project and what you
want to achieve! Easy!!

Project Content - Tell us what you did!

 We want to see evidence of what you guys have been up to over the summer, (not
your adult supervisor by the way!!!).
 There‟s no need to record every minute detail however we are looking for more than
a couple of lines, use the diary sheets or think of your own ideas. I‟ll leave it up to
you to decide what‟s relevant or not!
 Have you thought about including any supporting information such as photo‟s,
pictures, DVD‟s etc – every little helps!

Project Closure - Time for reflection!

 Did you manage to achieve your goals, did you exceed them?!
 Did anything go wrong? If so, how did you overcome it?
 Would you do anything differently if you had to do it again?
 Did you enjoy taking part in i10, would you do it again?
 Did you have an impact in the community, did you make a difference?

See it‟s not as bad as you thought! Remember though, the above list is just to give you some
idea on where to start, I‟m sure you can come up with something better!

                                                                                              6

I agree to the named child taking part in i10 and I have been informed as to what

been written on the team registration form. I agree to the named child‟s
