                                      INTRODUCTION

This service directory has been produced for the service users and key workers involved in the
MIDAS Trial. The MIDAS Trial is investigating therapeutic interventions for individuals with a
dual diagnosis.

This manual contains:
   1. MIDAS guidelines for prescribing (see website menu to download Handbook)
   2. Statutory Services Directory
   3. Non-statutory Services Directory

The manual aims to provide information on the services available in the Trafford area for
individuals with a dual diagnosis and those who support them.
The prescribing guidelines set out current principles of managing people with a dual diagnosis and
incorporate drug treatment advice. The statutory service directory details the services currently
available for mental health and substance misuse as separate services
The non-statutory service directory also lists mental health and substance misuse services
separately. The purpose of this section of the directory is to ensure that service users and
professionals are aware of the services available to them for legal advice, housing advice,
resettlement, training and employment, social support groups etc.
