Muscatine Community School District COMPLAINTS BEFORE THE BOARD The

Muscatine Community School District 204.12 COMPLAINTS BEFORE THE BOARD The Board recognizes that there will be situations that will be identified as problems by citizens of the district. When a citizen has a complaint of any nature against the district, he/she is encouraged to use the following process in order to reach an acceptable resolution: a. The first contact should be made to the district employee(s) directly involved in the situation. If an acceptable resolution is not reached with the employee(s), the second contact should be to the employee's immediate supervisor or administrator. If an acceptable resolution is not reached at this level, contact should be made to the superintendent of schools. If an acceptable resolution is still not reached, the citizen may appeal to the Board of Directors. b. c. d. The appeal must be made in writing and should state the nature of the complaint and the solution that is being sought. The Board will address the complaint within 30 days of the date it is received by the Board Secretary. Citizens may verbally express concerns dealing with non-personnel matters during the open forum, Citizen Speaks, portion of the Board meetings.
