CUSTOM TEXT PLANNER SCHOOL CALENDAR/EVENTS SET-UP AND INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for purchasing your Custom Text Planner with Success by Design! Please feel free to call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-327-0057 with any questions regarding your order. Please follow these guidelines when setting up your school calendar/events database. Open the Microsoft Excel file named “06-07 School Database.xls”. (This file is available through your sales representative, by emailing: sales@successbydesign.com, or by downloading it from our website: www.successbydesign.com.) This is the file that you will be working with to submit your school calendar/events. You will see in the database file that there are two columns - Column “A” and Column “B”. Column “A” (labeled “Date”) is a list of all the dates that have a space for daily customization in our Custom Text Planners (these are planner codes 9200 and 9300). Do not delete dates from the list. This will affect our database-publishing program, which in turn could result in the delay in the production of your Custom Text Planner. If you must add dates to the beginning or ending of the database, please use the same formatting as the rest of the list in Column “A”. (Be sure to refer to your Custom Text Planner Quote in order to determine the range of dates that you have ordered.) NOTE: Reformatting the text in the “06-07 School Database.xls” file for a different type style, point size, or justification is NOT necessary. Your type will appear in the typeface and size designated to the particular style of planner that you have chosen. Column “B”, (labeled “School Events”), is where you will type your school calendar/events in the row that correctly corresponds with each event date. If you have no daily events for a particular date, then just leave that cell blank. NOTE: If you have more than one event that falls on a particular date, use a carat (^) to separate the events. (Punctuation such as commas, colons, etc. is allowed throughout the text, but not as a replacement to the carat for separating events. See the following examples.) Example 1 (correct with no extra punctuation): Basketball game 6 PM ^School Dance 9 PM Example 2 (correct with punctuation used): Basketball game, 6 P.M. ^School Dance, 9 P.M. When you are finished, review your document. We will not be proofreading your files, so be sure that they are correct when you send them. Please submit your school calendar in one of the following ways: SUBMITTING YOUR SCHOOL CALENDAR/EVENTS: We accept files on ZIP, CD, 3 1/2" diskette, and via e-mail at sales@successbydesign.com. If you are mailing your file on a CD or diskette, please tape heavy cardboard tightly around the media for protection, and mail to: Success by Design, Inc., 3741 Linden S.E., Wyoming, MI 49548. Include your name, school name, and the phone number(s) you can be reached at (even during the summer months). PLEASE SEND/FAX A PRINTED HARD COPY OF YOUR DATABASE FILE.
