<Seminar on Investigating and Handling Technical Pharmaceutical Customer Complaints>
The ISPE India Affiliate held a successful seminar about Investigating and Handling Technical
Pharmaceutical Customer Complaints on 12 April 2008. Delegates included pharmaceutical
personnel working in senior and middle management roles in Quality Assurance and Analytical
Research and Regulatory departments.

Many notable speakers presented at the seminar, including opening speaker, Gopal Nair, Vice
Chairman of ISPE India Affiliate, who spoke about Complaint Management and Types of
Complaints, and Devinder Paul, President, Catalyst Pharma Consulting who delivered the
keynote address, covering a broad aspect of complaints and the effects these had on the industry.
Raghu Raghunandanan, former Vice President, Quality, South Asia, GlaxoSmithKline
Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Mumbai, spoke on how to carry out investigations on complaints while Arun
Mishra, Head, Pharmaco-vigilance, Pfizer India gave delegates a rare insight into the importance
of pharmacovigilance and its shortcomings. Kapil Bhargava, former Deputy Drug Commissioner,
CDSO showed the delegates a regulatory perspective on Regulatory Complaints and Recalls and
Michele Gragnani, CEO and Technical Director, K2C, Italy discussed the issue of Corrective
Action Preventive Action (CAPA) and Change Control.
Ajit Singh, Chairman, ISPE India Affiliate was also present at the seminar, and gave the audience
an introduction to ISPE while focusing on the importance and the benefits of being an ISPE
The seminar saw a high level of interaction between delegates and speakers as the delegates
participated actively in discussions, interactions and debates during the various presentations.
